After the initial shock, Im ok with this. Give me players like Ace and Evans in exchange for someone who won't resign. Sounds like a deal to me.

The real question is, who's next?

Lowery or MJD would be my guess if another is trade is gonna happen.

Lowery likely isn't going to be moved until it's near the deadline. Coming off a concussion, no one is going to touch him unless he's proven to be back 100%.

MJD and Marcedes (also has to get healthy) are the most likely. I'm sure they'd trade Rackley for anything they could get too.

Do you guys think that Joeckel is the long term answer at LT??

He didn't look too good the opening few weeks of the season at RT. Of course it's very early in his NFL career but (assuming you take a QB high in the draft) it seems a little dangerous to trust a relatively untried and untested player like Joeckel to look after the new QBs blindside. Will he immediately shift over to LT now?

If it was me, I'd much rather have an experienced top 10 LT in Monroe looking after my QBoTF while he settles in. There is potential to ruin both players confidence in one fell swoop.

Joeckle is going to be just fine. He has looked solid to me with awful inside protection next to him. Having an awful qb who runs out of the pocket too soon and has awful awareness and sometimes just takes sacks makes our O-Line look worse than it really is as well.

If we didn't think Joeckel could be our long term fix at LT, this trade likely wouldn't have been made.

Good point, a QB with good pocket awareness can help the OL and in Shorts, Blackmon and Lewis you have some nice potential pieces on offence to help out a young signal caller. Go and get Teddy B and leave Clowney for us please Laughing

Joeckel's first game was against one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. He struggled some there, but he's played well since then and had gotten better every week.

3.5 sacks allowed so far, and I believe 2 were in week one.

Gus said other teams had called for Monroe, this could'nt have been the best offer.

You're right, we fielded offers then took a lesser deal than someone else offered #BecauseJaguars

looks like it is offically a 4th and 5th, which brings us up to 10 picks, 1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5,6,7 and probably an additional 2 comp picks for Terrance and Derek.

just fwiw...first year tackles often struggle. it's impossible to say right now how good of a lt joeckel will be, but his struggles so far this season don't look any different from any other rookie tackle I've seen. Keep in mind, it's not likely that we were going to be a playoff contender in 2014 either, so as long as the o-line is looking good for 2015 I'd say that the rebuilding is right on schedule.

I don't put a lot of stock in the whole confidence thing. Saw a stat that showed Andrew Luck was hit more than any other qb last season...didn't seem to hurt his confidence.

Can not wait to see the gems that Diamond (see what I did there) Dave is able to get with all those picks.

As crazy as it sounds, you guys might be too good this year to get Clowney. If your picking #2 and we're picking #1, no doubt in my mind Clowney should be their for you guys though.

Won't Roy Miller and Terrance cancel each other out?

Lost
Rashad Jennings - 1 year, $.63M
Greg Jones - 1 year, $1M
Terrance Knighton - 2 year, $4.5M
Daryl Smith - 1 year, $1.25M
Derek Cox - 1 year, $1.125

Total 1 year - $6.38M, 5 players

Signed
Justin Forsett - 2 year, $2M
Mohamed Massaquoi - cut
Roy Miller - 2 year, $4.5M
SenDerrick Marks - 1 year, $1.5M
Geno Hayes - 2 year, $1.95M
Alan Ball - 2 year, $2M
Marcus Trufant - cut

Total 1 year - $5.575, 5 players

If I'm not forgetting anyone, that's really close. We end up getting maybe a 7th rounder, if we're lucky, IMO. And we'll get nothing if they count MoMass & Trufant or if it's total contract counted and not just the first year.
