Was just thinking that. I am struggling with finding a comparison for him. He has sneaky speed, runs nice routes, and is very smooth. Also a great returner. Just can't think of a comparison.

Odell Beckham is a guy that I've liked all year and thought pre-season that he has had the chance to solidify himself as a 1st-2nd round prospect and I think he has done a fine job of doing that.

I'll drive the Odell Beckham in the 2nd round bandwagon

With how badly we've drafted at CB, I'd support throwing a little dough at DRC. Anybody know what the deal is on his contract? 2014 is a voidable year. I have no idea what it means, though, Rotoworld's description makes no sense to me:

"The second season voids if Rodgers-Cromartie is on Denver's roster five days after Super Bowl 48"

I think we signed more free agents than we lost and compensatory picks are supposed to help teams that lost more free agents than they gained, so I doubt we get any.

I doubt Cherilus would get us more than a 5th or 6th even if he got us anything.

He signed a big contract though. His contract total is probably as big as Quin's, Jones', and Bush's contracts combined.

Quote:
A team is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks if it is determined that they lost more or better players than they were able to acquire during the previous year's free agency period. The number of picks a team receives equals the net loss of compensatory free agents (maximum of four).

Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula that was developed by the NFL Management Council. Not every free agent lost or signed by a team is covered by this formula.

I know that the size of the contract offered is part of the formula to decide what round a comp pick is, but I have never heard of it being a factor to decide if one is given out in the first place.

I really like this WR class. Beckham, Lee, Robinson, and Matthews are all big time play makers that I think we have a realistic shot at.

I like the TE class too with ASJ, Ebron, Lynch, and Fiedorowicz.

I think this Draft crop lines up with our needs pretty well.

There is a guy in NFL Draft forum that projects comp picks every year and gets real close. I don't think there is a specific mathmatic formula for it, so those of us looking for one continue ot bang our heads against the wall.

The number of picks handed out relates to the number of FAs lost/signed and has nothing to do with the size of the contract signed by outgoing FAs.

The round/quality of comp picks received relates to the contract lost FAs received and has nothing to do with the number of FAs signed/lost.

At least that is my understanding after following the aforementioned poster for quite a few years now.

Yes, but we signed Quin, Bush, Mosley, Akers, and others. I think we signed more people than we lost to other teams.
