This is a bit unlikely, but I think something like this would give us tons of flexibility, with teams who may be looking to make a trade.

Bears trade 14th pick to NYJ for picks 18 and 80.
Bears trade picks 18 and 156 to CLE for picks 26 and 71.

This leaves us with 5 picks in the first 100, with plenty of flexibility to move around in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to get the players we want, and still having a 1st round pick.

I could see NYJ trading up for a WR or TE, and I could see CLE moving up for a variety of positions. I think it's unlikely we'd be able to pull off both trades like this, but I think it would put us in a position to add some serious talent to the roster if we drafted well.

1st - 26
2nd - 51
3rd - 71
3rd - 80
3rd - 82
4th - 117
6th - 183
6th - 191
There are a couple of teams with many picks: SF, Baltimore and probably NE (they always do). SF will likely be very happy to trade to move up for a player they really like. It does them no good to select a bunch of players who have almost no chance to make that team rather than a few who could actually be on the opening day roster. SF has a ridiculous number of picks. Since I cannot find the exact number of picks each team has by going to the NFL website, I would appreciate it if someone with better info mining abilities than I (which is almost everyone) could post the actual number each team has.

You can see each team's draft picks by using the drop down menu. Also, perceived team needs are listed for each team.

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/tracker?icampaign=nfl_drafttracker_nav-tracker#dt-tabs:dt-by-team
I was able to find that but it requires you to go through all teams to get the exact positions. I am looking for something that lists all teams and their picks in one spot. Thanks for your attempt at dispelling my ignorance.

Dammit, Al...you are spoiled. Smile

I am going to compile the document. I can send it as a Word document, PDF, and/or post it as a sticky if the mods see fit. I know I was looking around and did not see it in a convenient format and it won't take terribly long to compile it into a more useful format.

Either post it as a picture (not a huge one that distorts the forum page) or link to a google doc like chisoxguy7 does for the pick 'em game during the season. Be sure to note where you got the data too.

Thanks.

Sorry if i'm not allowed to do this because it's another site, but this link is a pretty nice source for it.

All teams, with their pics, and u can highlight one team at a time.

So in other words you are already nearly guaranteed to be happy about the #14 pick? Who else could the pick realistically be? Mosley? Shazier? Ford? That is a pretty all-encompassing list of potential prospects at 14 and apparently you will be happy with just about anyone there. Considering there could easily be up to ten prospects not included on this list that go ahead of #14, I think it's safe to say praise will be going Emery's way for the pick!

My TV is a goner if we draft a receiver or offensive lineman at 14. Especially since my buddy and I are turning our 1st round mocks into a drinking game.

Most offensive players except Greg Robinson, Jake Matthews and Sammy Watkins.

Would not be happy with Verrett, like him but we have a midget CB already.

Another undersized pass rusher would [inappropriate/removed] me off.

I can see the value in most guys because our defense is so bad.

That's exactly how I feel. So many holes on D its almost impossible to mad as long as they take a defender.

We havn't completely ironed out the details yet but, the general idea: When a team is on the clock, you have to call the position and player that team will draft.
Both correct... You're safe
1 right/1 wrong... Drink beer (as of yet undetermined amount)
Both wrong... Take a shot (of what I'm sure will be rot gut)

Might throw in a wrinkle about calling trades. Maybe if you call one you're safe, or if you call one and no trade happens -- you drink more.

Is this just for the 1st round? If you're doing this on day 3 you're gonna end up in the hospital lol.

Make sure you DVR it because you may miss a large portion.

Hmm...I'm intrigued, but it needs some more organization/competition I think.

Maybe this:

- Everyone present writes down position and player on a notecard and flips it upside down before the pick is made; when the pick is made you reveal your guess (trades can be predicted here).

- If you get either right you hand out 5 drinks, meaning you tell one of your friends to drink 5 (similar to Irish Poker and "screw" the dealer)

- If you get both right you give out 10 (and this can be split up however you want amongst your friends)

- If you get both wrong you take 10 yourself

- If you predict a trade correctly, everyone else takes a shot

- Not sure how to govern the trades - maybe just predicting one counts, maybe you have to guess the correct trading partner...I don't know, you can figure that one out.
