Have the Texans ever signed anyone from these weekly workouts?

They are for emergency lists. So lets say a CB gets hurt, we would probably sign one that we worked out 2 weeks ago.

We worked out former Jag I believe Mike Thomas a WR who returns kicks and QB's John Skelton and some other scrub I've never heard of.

Curious as to why we brought in QB's?!?

Basically nothing. We worked out Ramses Barden at WR and Pat White along with Skelton at QB.

We have the worst pass protection in the NFL right now. I can see the logic in bringing mobile options like Skelton or White if Schaub is put back in only to get hurt again or if Keenum makes the mistake of thinking those are C-USA players out there again like last week and fails to hit the dirt on a slide. If I were Stephen McGee, I wouldn't be calling it a career just yet.

A guy I can see us bringing in who may actually contribute is Tony Scheffler from Detroit as long as the concussion issues check out. We all know Kubs loves him some TE's and unlike Bryne or Griffin, Scheffler is a legit #2 with 22 TDs and the blessing of a Mike Shanahan 2nd round draft pick.

We also brought in Joe Adams the WR from Arkansas.

Tania said the QBs were brought in strictly to throw to the WR's trying out.

Sure that story makes sense. We have 5 healthy WRs and 2 more on the practice squad and it was so important that these 3 WRs got quality NFL throws that we flew in John Skelton & Pat White. Skelton was a 49er two weeks ago and has often been compared to Kubiak's lone success story in Jake Plummer and Pat White spent all summer playing for Kubiak's mentor for the Redskins. We couldn't ask Keenum or Yates to spend 15 minutes during a bye week to throw a few passes to receivers. Heck, the mere fact the Texans felt it necessary to feed some bs about Skelton and White just being batting practice pitchers makes me believe that there is more to this. I could even support adding Pat White as a red zone / zone read threat as if he's on this roster last week, I bet he gets in from the one vs. Keenum's useless dive. Skelton is a turnover machine, but has WAY more upside than TJ Yates ever will.

I remember when I was high on Adams and wanted us to pick him in the draft. I thought he would have been a good slot receiver and punt returner for us. He really impressed in the Senior bowl.

I remember his return in college vs Tennessee.

Tim "D-Bo" Dobbins was waived. Crying or Very sad

Saints waived Martez Wilson.

I think we submit a claim for Wilson with an eye for using him at ILB with the injury to Cushing and newly open roster spot.

La Canfora, from whom the report originates, also states that "league sources" expect us to sign a second, as-yet-unnamed runningback as well.

Frankly, I was hoping there was a trade in the works. I imagine the five guys we're signing, however, are likely four of our own practice squadders and Karim.
