Anyone really do sig bets against division rivals or anything? Saw some other team forums do it, was just wondering if there was any plan for some of you to do a bet with some Lions fans.

Those used to happen a lot around here, but I haven't seen any in a while.

My Three Keys to the Game…

Peanut Tillman’s Health vs. Calvin Johnson…

The Lions have done a better job of spreading the ball around early this season than they did last year…Nate Burleson is actually their leading receiver in terms of receptions and yards and will be a big loss with a broken arm…they are using Joique Bell & Reggie Bush who they should get back from injury out of the backfield as receivers a lot of the time and altho their TEs don’t get many catches they are used down in the redzone…but make no mistake about it…Calvin Johnson is still by far their biggest threat and the guy who dictates coverage which has been opening things up for the rest of those guys…most teams simply can’t cover Johnson one on one and have to constantly double up with bracket coverage…if we are forced to do that it will still open things for all their other receivers and altho our pass rushed looked better against Pitt it’s still not where it needs to be and if on top of having to double Johnson we then need to bring blitzs we could find ourselves in a lot of trouble…lucky we have the one CB in all of football who over the years has locked up Johnson one on one…problem being Peanut has been banged up all season with a knee injury and now a groin problem…as good as he is we saw a lack of speed when he was nearly beat deep against Sanders in the Pitt game…the injures are clearly taking their tool and if he isn’t real close to 100% against Johnson we will have problems…the hope is given him so much of the Pitt game to rest he can take it easy in practice this week and be fit enough to take on Johnson.

Kyle Long vs. Ndamukong Suh…

It’s the one we have all been waiting for…there aren’t many OGs who combine the strength, athletic ability & aggressiveness as Suh…but Kyle Long is certainly one of them…both guys aren’t perfect technicians or guys who are happy just to win one on one…they want to dominate one on one…they want a street fight out there…it will be a matter of pride for both of these guys to face off against each other and will be one of the toughest battles they will face year in year out…from our side of the argument we finally have an OG who can stand up to Suh and who can stop him from getting quick pressure straight up the middle which is where Cutler finds it most difficult like any QB to handle…we have a guy who can stop Suh from penetrating running lanes and let Forte get to the 2nd level against their LBs which is a mismatch…this is especially important as the Lions have the 8th worst runs per attempt D in the NFL given up 4.5 YPC on the ground…we have to get Forte involved early and often to not only get yards but to let Long and the rest of the offensive line go after their front 7…I think this battle is going to be real fun to watch…well right up to the point where Suh gets frustrated and throws a punch so Long kicks his arse all over Ford Field Laughing

Just Win…

We have gotten off to a quality start within our division…we are the only unbeaten team in the division…we are the 3rd highest scoring team in all of football…we have the 5th most accurate QB in football…playing behind an Oline that has only give up 3 sacks in 3 games…making Cutler the 2nd least sacked QB amongst those to attempt more than 50 passes…we have a RB averaging over 4 YPC…we have a WR averaging nearly 90 YPG…a TE who has made an immediate impact…a D that is 8th in the NFL against the run…we are given up plenty of yards through the air but we are still taking the ball away better than any team in the NFL…things are looking good…but all of this doesn’t matter…it’s a divisional game away from home…we have scored an average of 31.7 PPG…I would be happy if we won by one…that is all that matters in this game…not scoring a ton of points or stopping them from gain yards…just winning is all that matters…we do that we take control of this division.

We're going to have a hell of a time getting to Stafford. Per PFF Stafford has the quickest 'snap to throw' in the NFL at an average of 2.18 seconds through three games (125 dropbacks).

Stafford has a 80.4 QBrtg when pressured, and a 93.4 QBrtg when blitzed.

I think there's a civil war going on in Detroit in general.

Probably the toughest game we will have all year. Det has serious weapons and MStafford is playing really well so far.

Safe to say the best QB and WR we have faced all year, combined with losing Melton and an anemic passrush I think our D is in for a long day.

I'm putting this game on Cutler to win. He's won us basically all three but we really need him to have a good game and the offense in general or we will be blown out.

Obviously the biggest X factor is turnovers, can our D create them in bunches? If so I think we run away with this.

Three keys:

1 Get to Stafford
2 Stifle the run
3 Special teams win this one

Stafford has the quickest release in the nfl. We aren't getting to him.

We have never had problems with Stafford imposing his will uncontested.
