Can we please like even pretend to get any semblance of a pass rush. And that was a terribly obvious push off.... _________________

It wasn't even just one push, it was twice. Both hands, then a fully extended arm. Nothing worse than losing on a horrible missed call.
Oh yeah. Why the hell was a that should be on the PS playing outside in such a tight situation. Butler had no business being out there. _________________

I really expected to lose today with the injuries and lack of depth, then we played with 1 less guy active since they messed up the inactives list.
My biggest concern is the Oline though with Rinehart getting hurt and King getting hurt late. Hopefully they can get healthy asap.
Not sure what we can do with the D though, I know we aren't super talented but Pags seriously is bad at closing out a game. Too much cushion giving guys easy passes, letting them dink down the field without an issue. _________________

This lost is on Pags.
Like I said in the general board, Locker hadn't hit a big play all day....so why play prevent?
Damn it, this team should have went after Ray Horton when they had the chance. |

Gilchrist really screwed the pooch. He literally had the ball in his hands and just didn't secure it. _________________

I dont think its on Pags. Really, you cant do anything when your DL cant win a one on one battle...ever...
Liuget, Freeney, Reyes, REALLY need to step up, bigtime... But all in all, we DESPERATELY need a good edge rusher... _________________

We need to pass the ball more. McCoy's Fox-like tendencies annoy the crap out of me.
And I'm not just writing this because him and Whisenhunt went all conservative and ran the ball when Dunlap got injured. I sorta understand why they did that (although that wasn't the correct decision in hindsight, either, of course). But as a whole, running the ball with our below-average personnel just puts us in too many third-down situations. |

This. Pags has his issues, but we came into the season with what was supposed to be a good pass rushing interior (Liuget-Cam-Reyes) and they've been shut out a third straight week. |

I think you can blame this loss on the playcalling suddenly getting too conservative in the fourth and the weak defense. The Chargers' defense just isn't very talented or well coached. This game should also show why trying to bleed the clock with a mediocre-at-best o-line and an equally mediocre collection of RBs doesn't work.
This team clearly needs a new DC, another guard, and another tackle. Rivers' unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was stupid but he otherwise played well. |

Well, you can do something, but not with two backup ILB's in. Thing is, my criticism of Pagano goes more than this game and even with a depleted side, you can scheme to cover those deficiencies; heck we even saw it on the drive prior to that one when he sent the safety blitz. _________________
