i still think shula isn't using d will and tolbert enough catching out of the backfield. with the vertical passing game those guys have a chance to catch the ball in space underneath and with the o line being awful on the right side it should be easy to catch the pass rush being aggressive on screens. now with barner coming back i hope we see that added cuz it helps move the chains and can get cam going early or back on track if he's struggling
I've always thought Williams could be better utilized in the passing game. Over the last couple of years we've run boatloads of screens, but they're almost always to the TE or a WR.
Always felt if we could get Williams in space, that he could create. We have seen him take it to the house once he gets on the outside in an open field many times.
I would expect at least 2-3 screens per game to be ran his way.
Yeah I agree. His explosiveness is one of his strongest traits.
Did anyone see the shot he took at Chud? It is on profootballtalk.
it's also a strong point of our best offensive line players. gross moves well, and kalil moves great in space and can get up on LBs and secondary players on screens. never understood why we don't use it more. i'd like to see 2-3 screens a week with some plays called specifically(not screens) to get tolbert a 3-4 catches a game. a lot like the raiders use reece.

basically a two tight end set with a wr to each side to open up the middle of the field. single back is tolbert. both receivers would just take their guy up the field getting their guys backs turned to the play. TEs would run an out into the space opened up by the wideouts(olsen gets open on this route all day so he's also an option). tolbert chips and gets up field preferably between the tackle and guard in a 1v1 with the mlb. simple option route from tolbert to get into the open area for cam. and that's just on straight man to man. blitzing pretty much guarantees tolbert or a TE will be open and the routes are so short the ball should be gone before the pressure gets there. this should be a staple formation imo. so much can be done out of it including the power run game with motions. i'm bored and just got madden 25 _________________
