Not sure about what turf toe is in a medical sense, but I had it once in college. My entire foot was swollen for about a week. It was incredibly painful. I hope this injury doesn't linger for Okung. I think we could sit him against Jacksonville and still be alright, but if he misses more time than that we're going to be in trouble.

I liked the way PC worked the offense without him, he made that adjustment of the fly and neutralized Aldon Smith for most of the 2nd half. That said, I don't want McQuistan at LT long term.

I agree. McQ will probably get the start over Alvin Bailey at LT because of his experience, but hopefully Bailey can get some reps and get himself some more play time.

from what I know about the injury, It's when you injury the ligaments that control the toe... Like when Unger had it in 2010' he tore the ligament slightly from the bone and was IR'd the rest of the year...

The only good thing I can see here is that it was Okung's left foot and not his plant foot (right) when in pass-pro... I hope it's nothing but a sprain and NOT turf toe.

Not sure if torn ligament is the actual definition of turf toe or not, but it does sound a bit more severe. I always liked Okung, it's a shame he can never manage to piece together an entire 16 game season.

Except for being a pro bowl left tackle last year.... Hes a stud. But he does have foot/ankle issues that seem to just keep coming back.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9682429/seattle-seahawks-russell-okung-tears-ligament-toe-unlikely-play-sunday

Sources say its a torn ligament in Okungs toe. Not good at all. Crying or Very sad

Guess we'll be getting used to McQ at LT. Hopefully someone like Baily can step up and supplant him. McQ's not good enough to protect Wilson long term.

What's the time table for a turf toe injury?

That's good. We'll be seeing him in midseason then, around the same time that we get Harvin back. Our chances in the rams game just plummeted though, as I doubt he's back for that game. Their pass rush is premier in this league

We should really give Alvin Bailey a shot this week

I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that this is a blessing in disguise in the form of Alvin Bailey finally getting an opportunity to start and forcing his way into the lineup at either guard or RT upon Okung's return.

I love Okung from the knees up. Everything below that scares me to death.

I still like the circumstances surrounding the Rams game. If it was a normal Sunday 10 AM or even 1 PM start, I'd say there's a very good chance we lose that game just because the Rams play us so damn tough. But this is Monday night football coming off of a VERY long week of preparation following a Thursday night game. I feel playing this game on primetime is exactly the type of spark this team will need on the road.
