Hoe good does this defense look especially with the way Dallas has handled the rams defense?

Our defense is legit.

I don't think Reid has ever had a defense this good. And he's gotten teams to the NFC championship game plenty of times.

I think we could be serious threats in the playoffs this year. As long as we stay healthy and our offense keeps improving.

I don't know, everyone and there mother except myself and a few others seemed to think this team was more than just a coaching change and qb away from doing damage in da playoffs. 2-14 is 2-14 blah blah blah...glad to see more observers seeing the light. However, We won't do much with the way Alex is playing now, regardless of taking care of the ball...fortunately we have seen him play better, hopefully just a matter of TIme w new system and players.

Here's a very good breakdown of the Eagles offense and how our defense was able to slow them down

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/9/25/4760342/nfl-schedule-results-rg3-injury-cam-newton-josh-freeman-chip-kelly-eagles

It pretty much points out that hardly any teams would be able to play the Eagles the way we did and come out on the winning end. Most teams don't have a NT like Poe or a LB like Johnson to work with. It's a pretty good read.

FBO has them #1 this week, ahead of Seattle.

Just sayin.

Wow, even with the 27th ranked run defense we still have the #1 ranked defense overall because our pass defense so far has been head and shoulders above the rest of the league

I think our run defensive ranking is skewed. Aside from mccoy there has not been a running back that has gotten big yardage on us. Also vick torched us on the ground as well which def works against us.

Vick is just the worst. QB scrambles have been a weak point.

A good read on how the Defense was built:

It is one of the troubles of running so much press man. Unless we use a dedicated spy, we rarely have players watching the QB as opposed to reacting to the receivers.

That will for sure be DJ or Berry this week.

Yeah if we don't put a spy on Pryor we will be in trouble.

No reason for us not to.

Thing is though, honestly, Vick's scrambling didn't hurt us. There was the one play, but other than that, he rarely had an opportunity to scramble. I'd argue Fitzpatrick was more of a problem there, but that's because we didn't gameplan for him to be scrambling. Vick we had spies and specific blitzes and methods of dealing with him and with the read option. Against Tennessee, we didn't do that, so Fitzpatrick naturally gashed us until we adjusted. With Pryor, we'll be prepped as we were with Vick, and I don't expect Pryor to break a 70ish(?) yard run.
