The thread in General was closed, so here is another one.

The Chiefs hold Dallas to 37 yards rushing and one TD. Three sacks and 2 FF against an explosive offense.

I would not call them elite, but this is a very good defense. Once they double covered Dez Bryant, Dallas had no weapons left. It should also be noted that the double coverage shut Bryant down, which is not always the case.

just over 300 total yards given up. Not bad against a team I expect to be top 10 in the NFL on offense

I remember a guy in the general thread who was calling all chiefs fans homers said something along the lines of...."if KC holds dallas to only 2tds then I will consider that a great performance...blah blah blah". So I guess this was a great performance?

I wish that thread was still open, it was great discussion if you could get over the silly stuff.

Yeah, Dez went off in the first half but disappeared in the second half which is a credit to Sutton and Reid making actual adjustments. Take away Bryants day and Dallas was shut down for the most part. Abdullah and Demps and Berry locked up Witten.

I was honestly worried about this game as i am a little about Philly; solely because Dallas can score in bunches but i knew KC wasn't gonna have 6 turnovers today.

All in all, very impressed with this aggressive defense. Poe has grown up quickly.

Key to the Chiefs Defense was that they adjusted at halftime and went less aggressive, more conservative.

In the first half Bryant was eating them (and especially Flowers) alive - so they started to double him and obviously had to slow down the pass rush with one Safety locked up there.

It showed - Romo on some plays had ages to get the throw out but the deep coverage held up. I wonder whether a Sean Smith vs. Dez Bryant matchup would have been better to start the game.

And if you look for a team to get your running game going: look somewhere else ... 110 yds over two games?

Bottom line: they did a good job - and being able to adjust during the game the way they did earns them an extra plus.

In 2 games, KC has only allowed 107 rush yards....

So I am guessing Dez is just a beast cause I cannot believe Flowers is really that bad.

Bryant is a beast. After Megatron, he may be the best in the NFL.

That's really the theme of this defense. Tony Romo damn near completed a whopping 75 percent of his passes for just under 300 yards. And his team put up one touchdown.

Im not really sure what that means. 75% and 300yds is not a recipee for success for our defense. We can't expect to let that happen each week and still come away with the victory. Our pass D looked very suspect against a very talented WR, but that might just prove how good Dez is rather than our D.
