Week Two: Race to #1

Your Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1)

@

The Oakland Riaders (0-1)

Matchups to watch for:

1. Jaguars Defense vs. Terrelle Pryor: The league's latest apparent star dual threat QB showed off his arm and legs last week against the Colts, going for over 300 yards combined in the air and on the ground. The Jaguars defense will have their hands full trying to contain both the passing and rushing attacks from Pryor.

2. Chad Henne vs. Raiders Secondary: Last week, the Jaguars were all kinds of awful passing the ball until the final drive, where a more lax defense allowed for the team to finally move the ball into Oakland territory, and eventually down into the red zone, both for the first time of the day. Chad Henne gets a full week as the #1 in the offense. Will we see a better performance out of the passing game today? On the other side, the Raiders put together a very poor performance in the secondary against Andrew Luck and the Colts.

3. Jaguars vs. The West Coast - The Jaguars have, historically, been horrid when taking trips out west. Will a new culture and new players all over the team change that misfortune, or will we be in for more of the same?

I kinda mailed it in on this one, sorry guys. Still overwhelmed from the awfulness of Gabbert's performance.

Key Questions for the Game:

Which team is on the fast track for the #1 overall pick?

Can Chad Henne put a spark in the offense?

Can MJD get on track, and do so somewhere that he has struggled throughout his career?

Will the Jaguars west coast woes continue?

I'm torn. On the one hand, I want the Jags to play well & win. On the other hand, I don't believe Henne or Gabbert are capable of being more than backup qbs. If losing gives us the opportunity to get a franchise qb, well it's hard to see the downside in that. So...I want to see some of the young guys play well, but I'm kinda hoping we lose.

i wouldnt say oakland had a very poor performance last week. Luck had under 200 yards(2 TDs yea) but they were exactly torched.

Henne has to be better than what happened last week, right? Sad

Pryor could be a major problem for us, just seems historically we struggle against mobile QBs

I hate the west coast...

Key Questions for the Game:

Which team is on the fast track for the #1 overall pick?
Jaguars

Can Chad Henne put a spark in the offense?
No, I mean he can or will play worse than Gabbert

Can MJD get on track, and do so somewhere that he has struggled throughout his career?
No, Raider DL is too good, and the Jaguars OL will be overmatched.

Will the Jaguars west coast woes continue?
Yes, this and next week.

Well Seattle is a damn good team and we suck out west. I'm hoping Henne shocks the Gen forum and eliminates a good chunk of the competition

If we lose to Oakland, I wouldn't be surprised to see us come out YOLO-ing @Sea, which could be awesome, or awful.

Seattle, yes. Oakland, I picked them in the Survivor Pool, but I still think there's a chance Henne pulls the upset.

i know it would be a crucial "win" for you to get that right for the winning % side of things for the competition, and i know henne is terrible but i just feel like he could pull it off once. Also, is the defense really THAT bad, KC had incredible field position all day

The defense may not be that bad, but a dual threat QB can do some big time damage to a young defense without a lot of experience together. They're not going to have perfect gap control and everything down just yet, and if Pryor gets using his feet, he could really break us down.

I fully expect Pryor to get his on the ground, if we win it will be because of Henne or some fluky STs play imo, thats the sad part

wont oakland expect it? I hope he does go for 150 but i feel like they know its coming

also, any word on Rackley's status? I see Lewis is doubtful which is already bad news for the OL and offense
