Broncos extend Manny Ramirez's contract by 2 years through 2015. Maybe now we'll believe he's the starting center.

Not sure what you don't like about this.

We probably got ManRam pretty cheap and he looked good against the Ravens (Look at Lomax's and Jonny's comments in the All-22 thread). I like his physicality and he's a pretty solid run blocker. Hopefully the Ravens game is a sign of things to come.

I think it sends a good message. They brought in every center off the street to take his job and Manny still held on to the starting spot. He should be rewarded. He's depth in the worst case scenario

Elway must've read our thread today Cool

I like Manny and hope he can build off of his solid performance against Baltimore.

Yeah, nothing to be miffed about. Reward players who deserve it. That's how you reward players and gain credibility in the FA markets as well. I like Ramirez and at worst he's a very valuable interior OL backup.

Manny Ramirez was snapping to Manning in practice before Koppen went down, and Ramirez actually played well down the stretch at RG last year.

Obviously the snapping and communication is unknown, but in terms of ability, Ramirez has more than enough to play as good if not better than Koppen.

He's a good player, and it's a great job to re-sign him now before he starts to get a bit more publicity from PFF and the likes. Not saying the media dictate contracts, but NFL Agents certainly use whatever leverage they can get.

JD Walton is going to have a fight getting his job back when healthy.

It's also entirely possible that we let Beadles go, Ramirez kicks to OG, and Walton is OC. This gives us multiple options now.

Its certainly possible but I do not like Manny Ramirez as a LG as much a I would at C or even RG. I dont think he has the lateral quickness to play as a LG in this league. Just my personal opinion.

Good job by Elway. Like has been said, at worst he's good, versatile depth with starting experience. This is what good teams do.

I wish the would to. Ultimately, I think Manny was a little easier negotiation than WW. But I can't see WW walking.

They would have to give Walton a contract extension to make that happen.
