Can somebody please clarify how the holding call on that punt that gave the Panthers a first down was considered a defensive holding and not offensive holding. I thought that call was absolutely ridiculous

I did not understand it either.. I guess the logic is since the Panthers did not yet technically give up possession of the ball yet by punting then they are still on offense, in which case Bills holding would be defensive holding.. I don't like it either but I guess that's the way it is.. I do not think it was a blown call so much as a flawed rule and unjustifiable idiocy by our FB..
Yeah I assume that is just the rule is interpreted but that is an absolutely stupid rule. It is obvious he was doing it with the intent of stopping him from getting down field to defend the punt not to defend him from catching a pass. Very frustrating for sure.

Kiko, 9 Tackles, 1 Pick, 1 Sack, 1 QB hit.

Pretty damn good for the rook.

Dude is fantastic. My mouth starts watering when I think about our defense with Gilmore and Byrd back healthy.

I can't get over how wrong those of us that wanted Arthur Jones over him were. Laughing

This defense is going to be scary good when we're operating at full force. I mean hell once Rogers isn't on the field out of necessity anymore it's already a marked improvement.

We're playing fantastic defensive football with what amounts to our seconds string in the secondary.

blessing in disguise: ej gets pressured, sees freddie in the right flats, throws it to him and he gets popped but DROPS the ball. if he'd have caught that pass then we'd have run out of time

I actually thought that Freddie intentionally dropped that pass. I would have to see it again but it seemed like a really smart move by him instead of just dropping the ball, not sure though.

Everyone asking. Yes, that was an intentionally drop on 2 min drive. Can't get tackled there and have clock run.

This. They cost the team points by leaving CJ in the game inside the 5 early. Learned their lesson and let Fred punch 1 in later

As excited as I am to that we won, and I really am, Marrone has got to do something about these penalties. We got extremely lucky to get this victory. We shot ourselves in the foot twice because of idiot plays(and some silly rules) but we cannot keep doing this. It happened all the way through preseason and has not gotten any better in the regular season. We've got to find a way to fix this.

We are starting to hit on our top draft picks the last 3/4 years ( Nix era) and it's starting to show on the field with good coaching. I honestly think as the season goes on and our secondary heals up they will keep us in games atthe very least.

Manuel, Kiko and Woods had solid games. Also just like I said a couple days ago, Our OLine is criminally underrated across the board.
