I just heard on 106.7 the Fan that Brandon Meriweather fully practiced today and will play on Sunday.

This is good news. We need Meriwether back at SS is this defense is going to be successful.

Remember when Meriweather played the one half vs. the Eagles last year he had 7 tackles and 1 int

I hope that hes not rushing back because id rather him wait till hes completly healthy to play. Our secondary will improve with him playing SS and allowing Rambo to play his natural position. I cant wait to see if he can play how he did that one half he did play last year

I don't think he's rushing back, he missed Monday nights game because of his groin, not his knee.

Thank. Mother. Trucking. God. We need this man back. Him or Phillip Thomas, and I don't think Thomas is coming back any time soon. Sad

He'll be in there for a few plays, flash a little bit and then right back to the sidelines with an injury. I've completely given up on him as a Redskin, would much rather see Doughty out there considering he's a hardworker.

Thomas is on IR so he's not coming back until next year.

Cant you bring one player back from IR or do you have to designate them that way to begin with?

Yeah that was my point, Woz. Sorry I wasn't clear enough. Laughing
And did we have a "designate later for return" IR player yet? I'm guessing not.

Update first post to mention about Kai Forbath being questonable with a groin injury. I guess we are working out kickers today.

they brought back John Potter. He's the big leg kicker we had in the offseason but he's never attempted a FG in a preseason or regular season game.

I think they're hoping Kai is healthy enough that he can kick 40 YDs and in. If its over 40, they'll either go for it, punt or bring in Potter to see if he can make a long kick.

http://m.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/09/13/kai-forbath-questionable-because-of-groin-injury/

Quote:
The Redskins would have to make any addition to their roster by Saturday afternoon. They could take two kickers to Green Bay, evaluate Forbath again in pregame warm-ups and make a decision then, putting one kicker on the inactive list for the game. Shanahan said having a second kicker on the active game-day roster just to handle kickoffs is not an option.

Forbath was not immediately available to comment after the Redskins' practice Friday. He missed a 40-yard field goal attempt during Monday night's season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at FedEx Field. But he also sent several kickoffs into the end zone.

"I just kind of swung across my body instead of swinging up through the target," Forbath said Thursday of Monday's field-goal miss. "It's very similar to a golf swing. If you slice it, you're going to come down and across it. That's the best way I can describe it. Just came down and chopped it. Shot right a little bit."

You have to designate them when you put them on IR.

Laughing classic! Great post man! Wink

I'm not sure if it will happen, but Meriweather really needs to change the way he plays. Of course experts have been saying this for 5 years, since he was in NE. He's a head hunter! IF he just attacked torsos and thighs the way he attacks heads, he'd be fine but if he doesn't change, he won't be around next year.
