Watched the game last night

Ugly.

Carson really struggled on 3rd downs, not sure it was the play calling or the Lions D or both but he looked like a deer in headlights

The pick 6 was really bad to watch, think Dray was wrong, but still a terrible throw regardless, there were 3 Lions players around him, someone else had to be open

If we can manage to actually do somethin on 3rd down and in the red zone, this team might be ok.

I was just coming here to say the same about the INT...just awful in every aspect. But we all knew what we were getting with Carson, a good QB with moments like this sprinkled in, making you question him long term.

The offensive line looked better today for the most part. Still not where it needs to be, but hopefully it improves. Was hoping for a reciever to step up big after an exciting first week from the big three, but everybody had a quiet day...against a weak lions secondary...at home!

Edit: just realized I said "today" when talking about the game that was played yesterday...actually, it's 11:56pm where I am, so it almost Tuesday...so not today.

Aside from the two plays where they basically let Suh go and crush Ellington in the backfield, they did pretty good. They exceeded my expectations.

Both of those plays involved a pulling guard. The guard pulled, Suh had a free shot at the RB because the pulling guard could not get around quickly enough.

Yeh both pulling plays

College wasnt fast enough to the hole than Suh was.

Actually reall the two best plays Suh had all game, didnt do much else, which is a credit to the line.

Did Fairley play for them? Didnt see him or hear of him

guy behind me at the game was a Lions fan, said Fairley was out, but I could have sworn he was playing earlier in the game.

No he was ruled out. CJ Moseley played in his place. Suh was pretty much held in check. He did almost blow up the PP pass to Kerry Taylor though.

One thing that has been really annoying me since watching the game is how we went for 2 in the final minutes.

We were 4 points up, and an extra point gives us 5. 2 points gives us 6.

Surely being 5 points up is no different to being 6 points up? If the Lions were to score a touchdown, in both cases we'd be driving for a fg win. However, by missing the conversion, if the lions were to score a td we'd be driving for a fg draw. The benefits are vastly outweighed by the negatives.

No it was the right call. With that amount of time left, you have to assume that by the time the Lions scored a TD on their drive, there would barely be any time left on the clock to score a TD ourselves let alone get in FG range. The point of trying to go up 6 was that if they scored a TD, our ST (which is very good at blocking FGs), would have at least have a chance to block the extra point, thereby keeping the game tied and sending it into overtime.

Tony Jefferson played more than 80% of the defensive snaps, with Bell playing more LB. Once D-Wash gets back I wonder if TJ gets those snaps or Bell?

I'll wait til he does it on a consistent basis before I start thinking Jefferson a future star but I'm cautiously optimistic. Fleming started off strong last year too but I guess lacked the work ethic to stick around. Jefferson had similar character concerns coming out and that's part of the reason he dropped.

I do think SS is the way to go with Jefferson though. He has some pop in the run game but has good coverage skills too.

It's not that hard to not look better than Bell though is the thing
