Filed to @ESPNBoston: The Patriots worked out veteran DE Andre Carter today, per a source. Carter had 10 sacks for the team in 2011.

I doubt he has anything left but worth kicking the tires. if we lose a DE we're in trouble for awhile.

78.5 career sacks. Can't hurt leadership or individual performance wise.

Performance-wise he looked totally cooked last year.

That was to be expected though with the torn quad. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back for leadership purposes and stuff.

If he's not better there than at WR, we are in trouble

Yes, Thompkins is a terrible WR too. They should just cut him.

I don't know about cutting him but grounding him and taking away his video games is a real option.

McMurtry is just using heavy obvious sarcasm the past couple of days, due to almost everyone over-reacting to things.

Well we have had people saying Thompkins should be benched or perhaps cut and Ridley doesn't belong in the NFL so....

Oh, and the Patriots have one of the worst offenses in franchise history with Vereen out. Franchise. History.

Oh gosh, there are way too many stupid people in the world.

If the Pats bring back Andre Carter is that saying they don't have much faith in chandler Jones progress? That's what I would read into it.
