A person close to ailing Mark Sanchez told USA TODAY Sports that the quarterback "believes the organization wants to see him placed on (injured reserve) and be done with him."

Quote:
The person said that Sanchez, who is nursing a shoulder injury, believes the Jets think "it makes it cleaner and easier" that way.

The person said Sanchez fears the "organization has turned its back on Mark and is prepared to move on. It is ready to start fresh with Geno."

You saw Mark Sanchez throwing lefty. That's because docs believe he has partially torn labrum. 2nd opinion this week from Dr Andrews.

Jets' saying they're not looking at IR for Sanchez also nonsense. Source said last wk IR possible, depending on progress in coming weeks.

A person who has watched Mark Sanchez play his entire time in NY stated "Unnamed sources are bad reporting"

Quote:
He also believes "If Sanchez wasn't getting paid the contract he is, he would have been cut already"

This is the best case scenario for the Jets. If he's on IR then we save cap space that we would lose if we cut him and he is also not with the team. Win-Win

Mark Sanchez hasn't made definitive decision to have shoulder surgery, per source. He will continue to rehab. Surgery option still on table

Now who do we trust/believe more?

Regardless, I think it's safe to say Mark Sanchez has played his last snap as a member of the New York Jets.

Hope he has surgery and stays where he's at his best. The sideline

great teammate subpar qb

he possibly could go somewhere else and have some success in the future because honestly if teams are still willing to start Gabbert and Henne Sanchez should be a better option then that

Like they said on Mike and Mike this morning, if he doesn't opt for surgery he's an idiot. It's over for him here. Time to get healthy for the rest of this season and try to catch on somewhere next year and earn a starting job. It stinks for Sanchez, but after everything I think putting him on IR is the best for both parties.

The only way this could have been more embarrassing is if this happened last year and Tebowmania kicked into over-over-overdrive.

What is his hurry? Any surgery done by November can get him ready for next season.

Sanchez won't get better shot with other team after the season he had throwing arm surgery. 2nd stringer is likely for any team.

The sooner he gets his surgery, the sooner he can start rehabbing. He apparently is deciding whether to opt for surgery and be out the rest of the year for sure, or just rehabbing from it now and then getting surgery after this season, in an effort to try to make it back for some games this year. If he honestly thinks he can make it back for some games here, then he is an idiot. Just get healthy and move on. We put him on IR, he gets his money from us, then we part ways in the offseason. It don't matter if he gets the surgery now or a month from now. But if his mindset is that he still thinks he has a shot at starting for us later this year, then he is crazy.
