Disappointing that Francis is now a free-agent, someone might pick him up... i wanted him to stay on I.R. so he could compete for a roster spot next season.

[Of course if he stays a free-agent, the Patriots can pick him up later on and he might even play this season]

Doesn't that mean the interior line is now only: Wilfork, Kelly and Vellano?

Maybe...maybe this means Armstead is getting better fast? That could be it, right? Right?!

More likely that they're just going to bring AJ Francis (or some other similar guy) back on Monday after the game.

? The Pats shuffle their roster like this all the time. Seems like they wanted a little more depth for tomorrow on the OL and somebody had to go.

Armstead is on the NFI list, so if I'm not mistaken he can't come back until week 6.

Ah man, I thought AJ Francis was supposed to be some free agent gem. Dolphins fans raved about him Laughing

You're right, neither him or Mark Harrison can come back until week six.

Don't worry - at this rate, he'll be re-signed by Monday.

Even for us, these signings and cuts are a little like the front office on speed. The interior defensive line situation is becoming more and more intriguing. Signing a guy off a divisional rival's practice squad and then waiving him the following week is hilariously brutal.

Man a Patriots Hard Knocks series would be just be guys arriving and leaving the facility and returning and then leaving again. Those face to face meetings must be super awkward. Undrafted rookies would be featured in tear-jerking montages where they phone their family to announce they made the team, only for the text to roll before the credits announcing that they'd been cut a day later.

They claimed him off waivers after he was cut. He was never on anyone's practice squad.

It's so freaking hard to keep up with all these little roster moves. I probably couldn't name the bottom 5 or 6 guys on a regular basis.

Right, we claimed him before he land on the practice squad. Either way, we've screwed this kid around in a way that highlights how brutal the life of a fringe squad player can be.

I'm not sure at all about how other team's go about their bottom-roster guys but agents must know the Pats shuffle guys around daily. Ross Ventrone was signed in the morning, and a free agent in time for dinner every day for an entire season.
