Interesting. They essentially just guaranteed his salary for the entire season, not that that's a big deal. I wonder if he's back for cheaper than his original contract with them.

They were at 52 before they signed him after releasing Braxston Cave and TE Matthew Mulligan the other day.

Good. I was surprised he was cut. Glad he's back.

Looked totally useless in camp, little burst and declining speed. Doubt he sticks the full year.

For what it's worth:

Quote:
Fast fact: Patriots ranked 25th in KR avg. last season (21.2 avg.), while Seahawks, led by Leon Washington, were second (27.1 avg.).

And Danny Woodhead is gone and Leon Washington is a year older. I don't expect Washington to make a 6 yard difference this year.

Strange. Hope this doesn't reflect on Vereen's or (more probably) Edelman's health.

EDIT: Just saw that Bolden might be struggling with an injury. Not that really explains it.

Bolden's been hurt for weeks though. If Washington were insurance for Bolden, I doubt Washington would have been cut initially.

That sucks, I really wanted Edelman to keep returning punts. Oh well.

Edelman will keep returning punts. Washington might return one here and there but Edelman will still be the primary punt returner.

the main thing i want in a kickoff returner is

1) protect the ball
2) take a knee when the situation calls for it. no need to be a hero, and nothing wrong with starting at the 20 when tom brady is the qb.
