When: Sunday 9/8 @ 1:00PM

Injury report: will be updated when released

It's the first game of the year boys! Our Bengals take on the Bears in a game that will be a good measuring stick to how our team stacks up. On paper both teams boast talented rosters, will the Bengals obviously edging the Bears in that area.

Keys to the game:
Protect Dalton- with Whitworth likely out to start, Anthony Collins will start in his place at LT. Collins has been a solid fill in whenever called on. The rest of the oline needs to step up and give Dalton time to find a rhythm.

Feed AJ and Eifert- something inside me thinks these two are gonna have monster games. I expect Dalton to pass for 300 yards with all these weapons.

Get turnovers- the Bears were an extremely opportunistic team last year, which means we have to win the turnover battle.

Cover the damn Tight End- self explanatory

Prediction:
Bengals- 27
Bears- 20

Pretty good summary JD.

I just have a nasty feeling Julius Peppers and that Bear front 7 is going to eat our O-Line for lunch. In fact both D-Lines could dominate

Its going to be interesting to see how good Gruden is at slowing down their rush with getting Bernard involved

Best way to fight the rush is with draws and screens. Give them a heavy does of Gio and we will certainly disrupt their rush.

I like the prediction. Hopefully it comes true...

Martellus Bennett really worries me. Hes the type of guy that is gonna tear us up. I expect Bennett and Forte to lead the team in receptions. They are just gonna throw a lot of underneath to open up the deep ball to Marshall and Jeffrey. Im nervous about that. Hopefully Mays plays decent at nickel LB and prevents over the middle throws.

Its all on Andy Dalton here. Hes gotta be more consistent against the good teams in the NFL and not just the easy teams. I don't know if the Bears are a good team or not, but right now they are a big challenge. The defense will get the job done, its the offense that needs to step it up

Bengals 27 Bears 24

It's my tradition. I'm probably way too excited for this season. I like having expectations.

Saw that and came in here to post that. I think we should drop Whitworth to get him back. Stellar addition to the team.

Brandon Ghee and Mike Pollack out for this game. Andrew Whitworth Doubtful. Not a big concern with Ghee out since they still got 4 CB's, but with Collins now starting in Whitworth's place and the only backup OG in Pollack is hurt too, that pretty much means Hawkinson will move in as a backup OG which, meaning Dennis Roland will be that extra OT guy on some plays now
