He played like a rookie. If he's like Sanchez and is playing like a rookie in his fifth season, then I'll be worried.

Pretty bad situation for the Jets cap wise though, Mark Sanchez is making $8.75 million to sit on the bench this season.

I'd rather pay him $8.75 million to sit on the bench than pay him $8.75 million to play QB.

Sad but true. Time to see what Geno can do.

Well I just picked up Bucs D in my fantasy league. I'm confident there will be a pick 6 or two. Geno isn't much better than Mark imo

Luckily when he is cut next year, the Jets cap situation will be great. Think it will be in the 50 million range.

After we cut Sanchez and Holmes, we will possibly have more than $55 million to spend.

Why not use Sanchez to block on punt returns?

Hopefully, for your guys' sake, you don't just go splurge in FA and start the whole cycle over again.

Poor Geno.

First the guy is blasted pre-draft for a bunch of bogus.

Then he gets drafted by the Jets who, unfortunately, have a media circus surrounding them all the time so he's going to be under constant scrutiny as it is but now he has to step in and start right away as a rookie on a team severely lacking talent around him in a mess of a situation.

He isn't going to come in and light it up like the rookies last year did. He's going to struggle. And when he does struggle, he's going to continue to get blasted on here and everywhere else.

I personally think he has the potential to be a great QB. But he's going to have growing pains and unfortunately for him he'll be under a microscope because of the team he is on and the quarterback he is playing alongside.

I think we're going to use a good chunk of that money to sign some of our young talent to long-term extensions. I really hope we lock up Muhammad Wilkerson next offseason.
