Currently my favorite player not on the Bears in the NFL, absolutely deserves to be paid amongst the highest if not the highest payed ILB in the league. It should be interesting to see what kind of numbers he got in relation to Sean Lee's new extension.

Huge for us, gives us a little bit of time to focus on the Watt mega deal.

Hopefully we got a bit of a discount due to the injury but anything around the Sean Lee deal will make me happy.

That pic brings back great memories of the 2011 playoffs, specifically the Ravens-Texans playoff GDT

I want to say it's a good signing, but would like to know the terms first. Like him as a player, though.

How many years were left on his deal? Was he tagged? Honestly don't remember.

One year left on his rookie contract, was set to expire after this season. It's better to get it done now rather than later, especially if Cushing has an All-Pro type year. His injury was a fluky cheap shot, I'm not too worried about it.

So is it going to be 6 years starting next season? So he's effectively on a 7-year deal right now?

Yeah, his new contract starts next season.

Glad we got the contract done. Props to Andre Johnson for restructuring his contract for this year. Cush is a huge part of our defense as it showed last season and we HAD to get him locked up. Now hopefully we get Watt locked up in the future.

Eesh, that's a lot. I'm ok with the guaranteed figure though.

Meh, not bad as I thought it would be. 21 mil guaranteed for a top 3-4 MLB is pretty good.

If I'm not mistaken, they can't extend Watt until next offseason due to the CBA. Specifically, starting with players drafted in 2011, their contracts can't be redone until year 3.

That's more money that I was expecting as well. But I agree about the guaranteed. I wonder how it's structured...

Orlovsky has too much experience here. Manziel doesn't stand a chance.

A tiny bit more than what Sean Lee got. Good for the Texans to lock up one of their defensive cornerstones.
