Cowboys make fourth trade in four days by picking up Colts DE Caesar Rayford for conditional pick in 2015. A sign Anthony Spencer not ready?

27 year old rookie. Had 5 sacks this preseason. Two games with 2 sacks.

http://www.indystar.com/article/20130831/SPORTS03/308310038/Rookie-linebacker-Caesar-Rayford-excited-about-making-Colts-53-man-roster

Quote:
Rayford’s path to the NFL is circuitous: the University of Washington, the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League, the Spokane Shock and Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League.

Not once did an NFL team dial him up, until the Colts showed an interest and brought him in for a workout in May.

Quote:
The Colts are intrigued by Rayford’s pass-rush potential and his ability to contribute on special teams. His five sacks during the preseason led the NFL.
Utah Blaze coach Ron James describes Rayford as a class act.

“He comes from a military family. He’s ‘Yes, sir. No, sir. Thank you, sir,’ ” he said. “Caesar is the type of guy you root for because he’s such a good guy, a high-character guy. He just keeps his head down and works at it.”

EDIT
Just a little bit of youtube. Game against Giants.

May not be a big name, but it is DL depth and it was made more more then ST. Can't wait to see the ******* and moaning from those who are never happy though. Laughing

Other than his age, this is the type of player you'd expect to get in the later rounds. I have no problem with this move.

Know what it reminds me off? Something the Pats would do, the type of kid they'd take a flyer on. Maybe that's the living in the north east part of me though.

Neither do I. We desperately need the depth, and it'll likely be a low pick.

No problem with this whatsoever. Still would be nice to see some help on the interior of our defensive line, though.

I was hoping we'd make a run at Marvin Austin. Character issues or not, I liked him coming out of North Carolina. I know, I know. It's shocking that I liked a Butch Davis recruit. LOL

Come on Marinelli and work your magic! Actually i think Marinelli may have had him when he was an UDFA for the lions in 2008 so maybe Marinelli pursued him

I like this trade. Anthony spencer must not be ready. I also think it says something about kyle wilber. I don't think he is ever going to develop into a good player for us from what I have observed.

ya not sure he is marinelli and Kiffins type. I think they really prefer the physical specimens(Simeon Rice, Israel Idonije, Julius Peppers) or at least guys with traits, ya know long arms, superior size/speed/burst wilber has none of the above

injury history is a big concern as to why we didn't take a look at him.
