That's awesome - I'm glad the team kept Williams and Kearse on the roster over Harper regardless of draft status but I still think Harper has a future in this league. I didn't think he'd make it through waivers.

Good to hear. Williams is better than Harper right now, so it makes sense to put Harper onto the PS.

Really liking the guys we're getting on the PS. Obviously very happy Harper cleared waivers.

Per Adam Schefter, league source says that Chris Harper has now signed with the 49ers.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9626727/san-francisco-49ers-sign-4th-round-seattle-seahawks-wr-chris-harper

Quote:
The San Francisco 49ers on Monday added wide receiver help, complements of the NFC West-rival Seattle Seahawks.

The 49ers signed receiver Chris Harper off Seattle's practice squad, according to a league source.

Harper, who was drafted by Seattle in the fourth round (123rd overall), was among the weekend's surprise cuts.

Seattle then signed him to its practice squad, but San Francisco offered him a chance to join its 53-man roster and he took it.

The 49ers had five receivers on their roster (Anquan Boldin, Kyle Williams, Jon Baldwin, Quinton Patton and Marlon Moore) after Saturday's deadline to cut to 53 players. Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham enter the season on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

Damn it, I was wondering why no one was trying to sign him before he got on our PS. Sucks that it's the 49ers.

I knew Harper should have made our roster over one of those 8 million LBs...

I admittedly don't know much about Harper, though the little I did hear was a bit negative as far as his performance in TC. Curious why we'd guarantee him a spot on our 53 and wondering what will happen to him when Manningham/Crabtree return. I'm also wondering who Seattle will now sign off our practice squad. Wink

He might be your 2nd best WR until you get Crabs and Manningham back...

I doubt he beats out Williams/Patton, particularly if he's got the same build and style as Boldin.
