YES! YES! YES! YES! Rainey is that backup running back we've been looking for. If it weren't for Bernard Pierce in Baltimore, I doubt they would have let him go.

I hear good things about this Johnson guy too.

I really like Rainey too.

And this Dennis Johnson guy looks like he can catch and return kickoffs.

Johnson's been compared to Michael Turner, who Norv developed in San Deigo.

After losing our #2 and #3 RBs to injury, we could do worse than Johnson and Rainey.

Is this the same Ditch that is posting in the roster cuts thread? Wink

Yes.

Jackson was garbage, and there was nothing else behind him. RB was an obvious area in need of upgrade after Lewis' injury.

Other areas of the roster are another story.

I was worried about our RBs but these two signings I like a lot. Im still surprised we havent kicked the tires on Michael Turner. I would hate if he was a starting RB but to be a back up I think he would be decent at least. He could at least step in right away because of his history of the offense. After the others learn the offense he could be waiver/released

I heard (on several radio shows and a few people I know) that Michael Turner is out of shape and is getting fat. If he had anything left don't you think Pittsburgh would pick him up?

I think pitt wants to get away from the bigger type backs IMO. If Turner wont take a flyer on him and you know he is done

Turner is 31. His knees are 47.

Houston fans were thrilled to get rid of him. He isn't a good runner but can catch out of the backfield (Think Brandon Jackson lol) he also has fumbling issues. I don't think he will add anything to the team, would have rather kept Cook.
