Rumor has it Painter made it over Carr. That's amazing to me. Painter hasn't impressed me at all.

I'm fine with Bosworth getting cut. Our base package has 3 LBers, but I think we'll use 1 LB and a S for Nickel packages. We don't need 6 LBers. And Kiwi can stand up if needed.

Painter played better; he deserves that spot. Happy to see Austin go. I'm glad both Rogers and Patterson are still here, they both have shown they can still play at a high level. A little surprised with Trattou over Tracy and Ojomo, but I guess he's good on special teams. And so happy that Thomas made it. Hopefully he can build off of his strong preseason showings and make a case for a starter, or at least big contributor.

With Austin gone, and Jernigan honestly a surprise non-cut....just troublesome how many high round misses we see never make an impact on this team. I mean, i totally get that this is all a crapshoot, but to me seems like just too many 2nd and 3rd rounders -- those guys that are basically the heart and soul of a roster-- that are here and gone with zero impact in recent years....

not including the newest draft class, and last year's draft class (which looks promising, certainly with Randle) this is what the last five years' 2nd/3rd round draft picks look like:

2011: Marvin Austin / Jerrel Jernigan
2010: Linval Joseph / Chad Jones
2009: Clint Sintim / Will Beatty
2008: Terrell Thomas / Mario Manningham
Just for good measure... 2007: Steve Smith / Jay Alford

i will admit that there is some bias here for injuries both football and non-fb related, but still...

Well, Manningham was a financial issue really, but yeah Sintim, Jones, and Austin all busts. But Randle and Hosley are both promising and Hankins and Damontre should be great players for us too.

The only 2 that I would change out would be Herz for Boz...they're basically ST players but Boz plays with heart -- Herz is just terrible. I also would not have carried 3QBs. If Eli goes down neither Painter or Nassib distinguish themselves enough from the other so why keep both? Instead of that 3rd QB I probably would have kept Ojomo. Tuck will invariably get hurt as usualand JPP just came off of back surgery. He's a poor man's version of Osi so why not? I just have a feeling that this isn't it and there will be at least one more move.

Edit: I should have said 3 moves Embarassed ... I've never liked Kuhn either and would have waived/injured him and kept Tracy.

Kuhn is not counting for a roster spot, so him being waived/injured would not have changed if Tracy was kept on roster or not

Agreed, but they will likely activate him after week 6 and cut someone. I think he's a waste of a roster spot.

A lot can happen in the 6-10 weeks he be on PUP. We could need him if the injury bug hits us at DT. If not we either move him to IR or we could release him. No risk right now

Look on the bright side, I think in terms of percentages our success rate is still higher than the Pats who usually pretty much own half the picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Of that list the 2 that stick out the most to me are Manningham and the biggest what if in Chad Jones. It was such a tragedy with that car accident. That was one man i really wouldve liked to see what he couldve done in the pros.

The only guys i would consider a bust is Austin and Alford. Chad Jones and Sintim were injury busts. Mario was a financial issue. Steve Smith was great but had a freak injury.

Real shame Mo Austin couldn't get it going. But heck it shows that you have to earn your spot to be on this roster. Hopefully he can catch on elsewhere
