So Max Starks was cut by the Chargers. Do you think the Steelers try and bring him back or has that ship sailed?

depends who we keep for oline. I say bring him back at vet minimum. he has to be better than guy whimper or whoever else we keep at backup tackle. injuries are bound to happen sometime.

Ship has sailed.

Bad fit for what they are trying to move towards in terms of OL philosophy.

Declining physical skills.

I think he's out of the game for good with this release.

Starks gave up 3 sacks against the 49ers alone facing back-ups. He gave up a few more this preseason. Combine that with his limited ability in the run game and a lack of mobility along with a bad back...He was just beaten out by King Dunlap. The Chargers have a terrible OL situation.

On a somewhat related note, Dennis Dixon got cut too.

This would leave Willie Colon as the only starting offensive lineman from Super Bowl XLIII left in the NFL four years later.

Id still take Starks.

Not because I even really want him or like him....despite being a fairly solid LT for a few years, I never liked the lazy fat turd, but seriously...have you seen our OLine depth?

Id take a one legged Max Starks over a four legged Guy Whimper.

If Starks would be ok coming back as a backup swing-man tackle id be ok with it. Old or not he is probably better than our current back up tackles, and if someone goes down we have a guy with experience. I'd like to move forward with the guys we have but because of the lack of depth at LT it might make sense. He is a good locker room guy as well.

What he said. Besides I seriously doubt he would want any significant amount of money.
