With the signing of Oher, this takes OT off the board early. Really the only needs left are OLB, NT, DE, and RB. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we went offense though and add someone like Ebron. Gives us a great receiver from TE or WR. Walker is a good player but is no where near the athlete or receiver Ebron is.

ATL or Buffalo might grab Ebron. Atl could use a Gonzalez replacement.

To me the needs are OLB and DE. If we have to get a NT i'd rather try to find one in FA.
I don't think a rookie NT will be physically ready.

ATL has far greater needs than TE such as O-Line and defense. I don't see DE as much of a need. We basically have the two starters with Casey and Ropati. We could use depth but overall I think we're set. NT is far greater of a need because Woods is not the answer.

Posted this in the Oher topic but...

I REALLY want one of the top 3 TE's. Jake needs a security blanket. Someone big who he can't overthrow. Laughing

Wright, McCluster, Washington, Walker, Hunter, ASJ.

You could go small with Wright, McCluster, Wash or more of a jumbo with Walker, Hunter,ASJ. Put Delanie in the backfield. Motion him around. Have another big target in the end zone besides Hunter. Makes me giddy just thinking about it. Laughing

1st - Anthony Barr OLB
2nd - Austin Seferian-Jenkins TE
4th - Charles Sims RB

Dominate. Cool

With the signings, it points to defense.

I like Barr. I like Mosley but the Woodyard signing kinda says no.

TE would be nice but Walker had a good season and Wiz isn't a big Te guy.

I see defense in the 1st and a RB in the 2nd. Maybe a trade down in the 1st and grabbing a RB. Only huge need left. NT, Pass Rusher, maybe a CB but they seem high on our cbs, and maybe another WR which would such.

A Justin Hunter, Kendall Wright, Mike Evans WR core would be really nice.

I was thinking it. Didn't wanna say it lol. If we took him I would feel kinda like the lions..

I do think we make a surprise pick this year tho.

Unless the dream scenario of Bridgewater's or Bortles' falling happens, I'm all in for Defense. Preferably, OLB or NT.

I wouldn't be upset with Sammy Watkins, but still don't think WR is a need.

Say what? He played TE in the NFL. Coached TE's at Vandy and the Steelers. Antonio Gates had more catches last year under Whiz than he has had in all but 3 years and the most last year since 2009.

Jason Michael coached TE's at NYJ, University of TN, and the Chargers.

Then you have Mike Mularkey who played TE in the NFL for 9 years and he coached TE's for the Bucs, and Steelers.

There are so many guys who have TE backgrounds it makes it hard for me to think we won't draft a TE at some point in the draft. Hopefully ASJ in the 2nd.

I agree that we'll be the ones to shake up the 1st round. I'm thinking Evans or Nix.

I personally don't think Nix is worth a pick that high. I would rather "reach" on an outside rusher like Dee Ford.

But with Webster being a Best Available Player type...If Evans is there or God-Forbid Sammy Watkins. How can we not take them?

+1

Before he resigned in Detroit, I thought maybe we'd bring in Brandan Pettigrew for a visit. I think Whiz prefers a more traditional Heath Miller/Jason Witten type of TE. One that will actually spend a majority of his time lined up inline even if they're running routes.

Signing Charlie Whitehurst and dumping Fitzpatrick...

If they don't sign a competent backup, makes me think they are going QB with first pick.

Nobody that has a starting QB on crutches goes into season with Clipboard Jesus as #2.

I think they'll draft one but not in the 1st. Mid-round pick IMO.

Go big or go home. If Locker stays healthy we can make a big push. If he goes down clipboard jesus leads us to a top 5 pick in the draft.
