Needs could change pretty drastically if #10 doesn't make a statement this year.

Very true. The offense is set for the foreseeable future unless Jake falls flat. Also possibly could be looking for new OT's soon. Roos and Stewart are FA's in 2015.

That's my worry with the QB position. We have skill players that are set to be very dangerous when healthy and a line that should be solid another 2-3 years, so if it's not Jake it likely has to be a top rookie QB or somehow vet replacement.

Goes without saying though that without some major defensive improvements we're likely stuck. Although I guess we'll see what happens with the upcoming season. Hopefully McCarthy solidifies MLB and stays healthy. All the other areas you listed likely have no one on the current roster that is a long term solution as an impact player.

The consensus among the beat writers seems to have been Roos is all but guaranteed to be resigned(assuming he stays healthy/plays at his current level). Stewart is a toss up though.

Yea I can't see both being resigned unless its to a team friendly deal.

Gonna go on record right now and say that I want one of Nix, Tuitt or Sutton, as I think they would have the most impact on this roster (outside of Clowney obviously, who we aren't bad enough to get).

Also, if we need a QB (I think Jake turns a corner this year, so this should be a moot point) I would take a chance on a guy like Derek Carr over more highly touted guys like Fales or Boyd.

I'm also of the opinion we won't need to look at QB next year because Jake will show he's our guy BUT hypothetically if it became a need, I'm not interested in taking any more "chances". If we need a quarterback next year, we need to find a way to get our hands on the best one in the draft (a lot happens between now and then for me to say who), no matter what the case.

It'll be a damn shame if we have to go QB in the first next year too because that top 3-4 DT class is unbelievable and it's safe to assume none will be there in the second. Part of me even wants to think the Titans were comfortable grabbing Warmack this year over an elite DT because they've always known they're going to grab one of the top DT's next draft.

After some late night film watching of potential prospects for next year's draft, I have discovered that I am absolutely falling in love with Bradley Roby as a prospect. He is fantastic in coverage, and he has great anticipation to break up passes. His tackling is top notch, and even when he does get beat on a route (which is rare) he has great make up speed. I wouldn't be surprised if he ran in the 4.2 range for his 40 time when the combine rolls around. With Verner probably out the door after this season I would be ecstatic if we could land Bradley Roby as our second corner. I know we're trying to develop BWW to potentially take that second corner spot, but I feel like Roby would just be too good to pass up. This might be all for moot, because he'll probably end up being a top 10 pick and I expect us to be drafting 32. Either way, I think this guy is going to be a stud, and I can't wait to watch more of him this season.

If we need a QB next season. I would actually he inclined to look at veterans (Jay Cutler and Phillip Rivers are available) over a QB unless were picking high enough to land a franchise guy. (I feel Bridewater is the only franchise QB) Rivers would make a ton of sense. I think he needs a change of scenery. He's from the area (Alabama) and was at his best when he had weapons around him. Its not a surprise that his play dipped when LT left, V-Jax left, gates began to break down and their o-line play got worse. I blame alot of the post season failures on Martyball, Norv Turner, and the fact that LT could never stay healthy come playoff time. I know some people might scoff at the idea. It would still allow us to devote our draft class, particularly the 1st and 2nd round picks, to defense and pass rush. Jay Cutler would be the fall back but I hate his pouty lil attitude.

For me it's...

1. Pass rusher
2. Free Safety
3. MLB
4. Corner
5. Strong Safety

A DT would be nice, but I think our DT's will be just fine. If we choose one next year I believe it would be because they were BPA rather than a major need. I feel we need more help on the back end as well as finding a mlb who can stay on the field.

I'm hoping the front office values MLB higher come draft time then we do here on this board. I feel like we need a solid one to pair with Ayers/Brown. McCarthy could have been it if it werent for health issues, its killed his confidence.

Why? The ILB position looks kind of deep right now, Yawin Smallwood, AJ Johnson, Shayne Skov, AJ Tarpley, Andrew Jackson, Chris Borland, Max Bullough, Greg Blair, Glenn Carson, James Morris, Jeremiah Attaochu, Christian Jones, Khalil Mack, CJ Mosley and even Kyle Van Noy all looks like players who can play ILB.

All have their plusses and minuses, but they all bring talent. James Morris, Greg Blair and Glenn Carson might not be as talented as the rest, but I like all three of them as solid, not great, players.
