That's an ugly gash, but there's no way it took 15 stitches to close that up. Try five. Maybe.

The could probably take those out in a day or two and put some of that glue stuff on it. If he doesn't get an infection, I'd expect him to play in Oakland.

Probably more accurate than his passes on football fields.

It was not better with Henne. It appeared better because of Shorts. The offense looked better when Shorts started in the Oakland game until his concussion, got better when he came back, and went to crap when he got his second concussion. Henne was garbage without Shorts, complete crap.

Tebow time. I'm not saying he's good or even better, but this is supposed to be entertainment, and he would at least be entertaining. That was just so bad. I'm going to have a hard time watching this year if it stays like this.

In a lot of ways, this is where i'm at in terms of the whole 'Tebow Thing'. It would be terrible and bad and just really awful, but at least it would be hilarious and there are a lot of aspects to it that would be entertaining.

You can argue it would make the Jaguars look like a joke, but really...after a day like today, is this team not already basically a joke?

However, now isn't the time for that. It's week 1. We still need to give Gabbert more than one game. And heck, even get Stanzi in there for a couple games. I'm sure he'll suck too, but might as well try it. Because if we were to do a Full Tebow...once that train leaves the station, there's no going back until he's crashed the train full on and we can draft a real QB.

Hopefully the hand is good enough to go next week for Gabbert. But if it's not, and it very well might not be...it'd be nice to see if Stanzi can do anything half-decent, but i doubt they'd feel comfortable enough with him knowing the playbook, etc. to do that yet.

Basically though, who knows how many weeks it will take for us to run through all 3 QBs and know that they're all definitively awful. But it will be quite a few. At that point though...if we've run through Gabbert and Stanzi and it's still just a completely embarrassing mess and not improving...I'd be all for bring in Tebow to close out the season with a hilarious (and terrible) bang. To clinch the pick that brings us Teddy. Very Happy

But that's like...after the Bye week type stuff to think about.

Gabbert without Shorts starting (5 games)
80/146 54.7% 796 yards 5.45 YPA, 5 TDs, 3 INTs, 73.3 QB Rating

Gabbert with Shorts starting (~3.5 games)
82/132 62.1% 866 yards 6.56 YPA, 4 TDs, 3 INTs, 81.8 QB rating

Henne with Shorts starting (~5 games):
111/203 54.9% 1472 Yards 7.25YPA, 9 TDs, 4 INTs, 84.4 QB Rating

Henne without Shorts starting (includes plays when Shorts was hurt) (~2.5 games):
55/105 52.3% 612 yards 5.82 YPA, 2 TDs, 7 INTs, 48.59 QB Rating

Factor in the fact that Justin Blackmon started to play competently down the stretch and you soon realize that Henne's success had absolutely nothing to do with him as a player, but the players around him stepping up.
