Cantlanta Falcants @ New Orleans Saints 9.8.13 12:00 CST

Expect to see lots of this:

Keys to Victory:

1. Get to the Quarterback. Our front 3 must cause pressure and disrupt the pocket and allow our LBs to attack.

2. Protect the deep ball. Ryan likes to throw deep balls for quick, long gains and easy drives. Prevent this from happening.

3. Holding their receiving threats to lower gains. Shoddy White, Julio, and Tony G must not go off on us. We need to limit their touches.

4. Test Steven Jackson. Jackson has looked horrible this preseason, we need to test him and make him beat us. I don't think he can do it.

5. Get the running game going. Do not want to become a one dimensional team, especially considering the Falcant's porous run defense.

Key Matchups:

1. Kenny Vaccaro vs Tony Gonzalez. This is my personal favorite matchup to look out for, what better way to test Vaccaro's skills early on then by putting him against the best TE to ever play the game?

2. Akiem Hicks vs Lamar Holmes. This one benefits us greatly. The inexperienced Tackle in his first regular season start, who has looked horrible so far in the pre-season.

3. Keenan Lewis vs Roddy White. Let's see if the pre-season is just a fluke or if we should really be worried with Lewis' performance so far.

4. Steven Jackson vs Our LBs. Whenever Sjax gets past the first level, I want to see how good our LBs are against him. Test them out early.

Predictions:

I'm expecting a strong, strong offensive showing, and a mediocre defensive showing while they progress through this new system. 31-20 New Orleans.

All discussion for the game will go here.. WHO DAT!

I can't wait to shoot the Dirty Birds out of the sky. I want a hard nosed, aggressive, BRUTAL defense. Hit Matt Ryan, then hit him some more. You have a shot on him? Take it and make it count. Show the league we mean business.

Hopefully our running game is on point and the young guys can get separation. We need to pressure Ryan

retweeted by Quinn Early? LMAO, is this the Quinn Early who was a Jags backup and got pick 6'd by Mike Mckenzie in the 07 season? What a quality retweet, and what a quality person Laughing

Talk about a statement game, I also expect us to come out and just stun the Falcons and put the rest of the league on notice in the process.

Soooo amped for this game.

Nobody expects us to do anything this year. I have yet to see someone predict the Saints to go to the playoffs. Everyone thinks we're going to get steam-rolled from day one. We all know what this offense can do. It'll be back to it's old, machine-esque precision and deadliness. However, I wanna see this defense come out and make a huge statement. Like an '08 kinda statement. I wanna see Jackson on the ground. I wanna see Ryan get sacked every time they try to go deep. I wanna see this defense come out and STOMP the Falcants. Show them that one flukey bad year isn't enough to count us out, and we mean business.

Maybe everyone here, but the talking heads in the sports media world are more level headed. I have actually read to sports mags with two different writers predicting the Saints being playoff bound. And I can't remember which analyst I saw that predicted a Denver/New Orleans Superbowl

I think he's talking about in the media, and I have only seen about 3 writers predict us to go to the playoffs (all as Wild Cards) and none to the Super Bowl.

But then there's TV and Scott Fujita (FS1), Marhshall Faulk (NFLN), Heath Evans (NFLN), and Darren Sharper (NFLN) all predicted us to WIN the division... I wonder why.. Laughing

I expect it to be a shootout and a one score game. I think Brees is going to pick on their rookie corners, plus who doesn't back Colston against Samuel [when on the outside] and whoever is trying to guard him in the slot? Razz

Need the run game to get going, and for the love of god no turnovers.

I'm quite interested in seeing the Falcons pass rush. For all the criticism/skepticism our OLB's recieve, and you can see the reasoning, I don't see much of anything from Atlanta unless they blitz. Now I've said that Streif will make Biermann look like Jared Allen. Laughing Laughing

31 - 28 Saints. Hartley wins it as time expires. Mike Smith goes for it on 4th and 1 and fails again Razz

Would anyone here be interested in doing a sigbet with the Clowns fans? I have an idea in mind for when we win. Twisted Evil

EDIT: If we get a decent amount of people I'll post it in the Clowns forum.

Why? For having confidence? We have a team that is 5-3 in the playoffs since our coach came(including a Super Bowl win). What can you say about your team and coach? We have a reason for the confidence. And if you think we are wrong you are foolish.
