If you guys want a FB so bad, I'd encourage the FO to make a trade for Marcel Reese. Much like I think Colt Lyerla is PC's dream TE, Reese would be his dream FB. Wishful thinking though.

Reece is the dream FB for alot of teams, don't see Oak letting him go tho. Or us being willing to give up enough.

Bored, so dream scenario obviously;

Reese hits free agency after the season (I believe he's a free agent after this year, correct me if I'm wrong) and we sign Reese. To solidify our offense, would you be tempted to go after a playmaker at TE like Colt Lyerla (even though I'm high on Willson's potential) and also trade up in the 2nd for one of either Brandon Coleman or Mike Evans (If he actually chose to declare)?

I'm not trying to be Madden-esque either, just figured something like this might really make our offense dangerous. This might make getting away from a few big contracts easier (Lynch, Miller, Rice). I'd love to keep all 3 honestly, but in order to make things easier on keeping the people who have contracts coming up, this or something similar might be necessary. No clue if any of them would have much trade value either with their current contracts.

Again, just bored and kind of creating a conversation. The biggest issue I have with this scenario is that it doesn't afford us much of a chance to drastically upgrade the D-Line. O-Line would be nice to upgrade as well, but I'm more comfortable looking at O-Line in the 4th rather than D-Line.

And Kam Chancellor's hit on Vernon Davis was just another tackle...

If you want to make a point, best not to start from a position of obvious bias.

Except it wasn't. It was in a meaningful game against an opposing team.

Stephen Williams got the most yards of any receiver in pre-season. Does that mean that he's poised for a breakout year?

I think it has alot to do with the absolute lack of certainty around our FB position. Im not sold on Coleman in the least and I think Ware needs a year to get his feet under him as a blocker.

I a guy like Conner is an impactful blocker and thats what is where we have absolutely nothing at the FB position with any certainty.

And what bias would this be? Laughing

Cool? I pancaked the only guy in my league who went on to play D1 football at OG. He was over 300 and quick.

I was not as good as him. I just got him right. I'm not remotely sure how one nice play in practice in JULY is going to make me want Conner. He got cut by the Jets and their entire offense was the power running game.

He has nice talent. It depends on how Willson develops this year.

I still really want ASJ. I'm hoping somehow the character concerns allow him to slide to us. He's never had any good coaching on how to block yet he's still very good. With Cable coaching him up for an hour or two a week, he might be the best blocking TE in the NFL.

He has extremely soft hands and an athletic, HUGE frame that he's still refining. He'd also give us leverage to restructure Miller or cut him.

In High School I tackled Raiders Rookie RB Latavius Murray by Myself.

Not sure what kind of point Silus is trying to make.

And your entire response is marred by you making a big ol' O face Laughing Nothing knew here. Our forum is almost entirely OU or UW fans it seems.

ASJ is a freak though. Boy is pushing 280 and lean.
