Promising Seahawks rookie DT Jessie Williams also goes to I.R. Had high hopes for him if healthy.

Seahawks cut CB Will Blackmon, team announced. Told they tried to trade him first. Lots of depth in that Seattle secondary.

Hearing that the Seahawks, so deep in the secondary, will be releasing CB Antoine Winfield.

Laughing

Anyways No real suprises here. Figured Williams would get put on IR. Only slight suprise was Knox getting cut already. I figured he would be one of the final cuts but he wasnt going to make the team.

I tend to think sometimes guys get cut in the first wave because teams think it will be easier to slide them on to PS

That's good thinking, but I think in this case, they just haven't shown much to belong on the roster.

No surprises here. I didn't expect anyone on the this list to make the team. Jesse Williams getting I'Rd may actually turn out to be a positive for him. I don't think he'd shown enough to make the roster this year, so this could really help him, and the team, for next year.

Kyle Knox showed well

There is zero place for Knox on the roster or the PS in my opinion. He showed well but there's way to much quality competition.

Fan favorite, but Ware and Coleman should be able to fill his role on offense.

Kinda surprised it actually happened. I've been talking about how this makes the most sense going forward for a team looking to pinch pennies, but in the back of my mind I didn't think Pete would let go of a guy that is such a locker room presence.

On the field I don't think it's a loss at all really. Coleman should be able to take care of some sparing use at FB. I expect the team to use much more 2 TE sets like Bevell prefers with Miller and Willson. And I also expect the team to use Zach Miller as a FB which is actually probably an upgrade over MRob.

But it sucks we won't have the Real Rob Report anymore and I'm sure the players are heart broken over this news. Rob's illness is probably pretty serious and I wouldn't be surprised to hear he lost a good amount of weight and would be weeks away from playing shape.

EDIT: Also, knowing the way this team does business, they probably approached MRob about a restructured contract and he probably told them he'd prefer to test the market. Don't be surprised if we resign him to a lower salary like the Ravens did with Vonta Leach.

Yeah it's been talked about, but I never really thought it would happen. He was such a big presence in the locker room and was an exceptional player. I just think that if they were trying to get him back for cheaper, why now and not earlier?

This is really goona sting for the players.
