Moye deserves the 5th WR spot.

Landry Jones looked like Neil O'Donnell in super bowl 30 there lol.

Moye does deserve that fifth spot. IMO

I wouldn't keep L. Jones to help this team this year. I'd roll the dice and let him go. Better talent can be easily found next year. Batch and Leftwich are always available in case of emergency. We've rolled with 2 before.

We will have to let go of a more talented LB, WR, DL or needed RB depth.

In one sense, I hated the Jones pick and don't think he'll amount to anything. He was mostly godawful so far.

On the other end, he was a 4th round pick and a guy they knew would be a project if he panned out at all. They drafted him to mold him. I don't think they jettison him.

They will be giving up a more talented player to keep him, I believe.

Good or bad, I think that was the highlight of the Steelers 2013 Pre-Season and an image as for what to expect and what it will take from this team to have success. Hustle and Heart.

I actually am probably one of the few that liked the Landry Jones pick, at the time. I felt like he could definitely develop into a solid QB, but if you paid attention to me at all, pre-draft, you also know it's NOT the QB I wanted; I wanted Zac Dysert, who comes from the same school Ben does and has a lot of the same skills that Ben does. He's not as refined and I wouldn't say even as talented as Ben, frankly, he's a bit more reserved, but I think learning from Ben, he could have been a great QB.

I also agree that we'll be giving up a more talented player to keep him on the roster. Derek Moye, definitely needs to be our 5th WR imo, he has earned every bit of it.

The first thing I noticed when I looked at the results of this game, was the score....jesus...nice way to finish preseason... The next few things I noticed were as follows:

Rushing Yards:

Panthers - 79
Steelers - 120

*Jones had 56 to himself.

Passing Yards:

Panthers - 236
Steelers - 184

Turnovers:

Steelers - 3 (Jones threw 3 Interceptions)
Carolina - 1

Defensively the thing that suck out to me was the lack of sacks (only 2 for Carter) and the 2 missed tackles each by Cromartie-Smith & Vince Williams, but in all seriousness, there were a lot of missed tackles by a lot of other people too.

Overall, not time to hit the panic button, I didn't get to see the game because I don't have cable right now (going to have it on the 3rd, just in time for the start of the regular season), so I'm guessing here but Ben didn't play correct?

I'm not worried in the slightest from a production standpoint. Obviously there's some injury concern and right now we don't know who'll be on the final roster come Sunday, though all of us are speculating. I would LOVE IT to be honest, to see Moye be on our roster as our 5th WR, I'm also a huge PSU fan (it's the one area I'm not rooting for a Pitt team, because I do like their basketball squad, though I also cheer for Pitt in football as long as they don't play PSU).

I really enjoyed watching Moye play college ball and what I've seen of him in preseason, yes I have youtube on my phone folks Wink , I have thorougly enjoyed. Again, I don't think he'll ever be a star necessarily, but I think he can develop into a very reliable WR.
