After the first round of cuts... and injuries taken into consideration, this is what the Eagles are working w/ in the secondary.

Quote:
[CB] Bradley Fletcher, Cary Williams, Brandon Boykin, Trevard Lindley, Jordan Poyer (5)

[S] Patrick Chung, Nate Allen, Earl Wolff, Kurt Coleman, Colt Anderson, David Sims (6)

With more cuts coming within the next 24 hours from other teams, who do you think the Eagles should target @ CB?

Is there a potential trade in the works?

Who do you (realistically) want them to go after?

Seattle have some pretty nice Corner Depth.

I doubt we're going to find a whole lot of help at Safety since it's a weak position throughout the league.

My preference would be just to bunker down and wait for the cuts, we have high waiver rights (drafting 4th overall) and hope we can get a nice depth player. Maybe throw a 6th-7th round to a team like Seattle, but I would prefer just to sit and wait.

Sims is terrible. He has to go.

Anderson looks like a starting safety in the Tim Hauck style.

Bummer of losing Hughes was his ST play, as he was a key member for the last few years. I'm guessing the fractured hand will keep him out nearly all of the season.

We'll have to scour the waiver wire for some depth, as I'm not sure Poyer is ready for NFL action (more of a PS guy IMO). Lindley hasn't played much, but at least he's been around for a few years in practice. He might actually make the roster now.

We might just keep 5 safeties, with Sims being the lone cut from the list.

My guess on CB would be that Lindley is cut and that we try to bring in someone who could come in and be a decent 4th corner. Poyer should make the squad purely off potential and the fact that we might never need 5 corners on the field at once. I would be shocked if our Quarter look wasn't 4 CB's and 3 S's.

As far as Safety goes, it is a crapshoot. Chung is the only starting quality player we have back there. Allen is not a starting FS in this league. Wolff needs more time, Anderson should get a chance to play, but I would't expect a lot from him. Past that, none of the other safeties are even worth looking at IMO.

I really think Chip's going to go into the season with what he has. He'll make skill positions on both sides of the ball a priority next offseason.

All I see is some garbage and potential in Boykin and Wolff. Fletcher is semi garbage.

Not sure why people think this. He isn't even close to being garbage. He's only 27 years old and when he's been giving playing time, he's been actually pretty damn good.

Last year, he allowed a completion % of 47 and qb rating against of 55.8.

Rams let him go because he got lost in the shuffle...they already have Finnegan, Jenkins, and Johnson.

And he is a solid tackler in the open field as well and can play well against the run.

I'm telling you guys....Fletcher is legit. Just remember who said it. Cool

I'm with you on that. I'm also they guy who is saying Cary Williams isn't as "garbage" as most people are saying. The spots in the secondary where we are hurting the most is safety and all around depth. Boykin, Fletcher, and Williams is at worst the same or better than what we had last year.

We've got $20M in cap space right now. But that's a pipe dream fellas. Wish it would happen, but it won't.
