Hey guys, Chiefs fan here. I was wondering if you could tell me more about James Michael-Johnson. I liked him coming out of Nevada and was pretty surprised when he was released by the Browns, IIRC he started 9 games last year and by all accounts was pretty solid. I have a ton of respect for Ray Horton and I find it interesting that he was let go considering many project him as better inside in a 3-4 front, which the Chiefs employ. What can you tell me about him from his short time in Cleveland?

JMJ definitely did not start nine games last season. I'm not sure if he started in any game, but it definitely wasn't anywhere near that many. He didn't really stick out much last year. Prior to training camp, I had hope that he would become a starting ILB, but he supposedly struggled in Horton's system.

He started 8 games per profootballreference

I guess I just don't remember him starting that many. Just shows how little he stood out.

Wait. I thought Bogotay was cut. Was he or was he placed on IR like your list says? Confused

He was waived/injured. Cleared waivers. Then placed on IR.

Or so Reggie says Wink

Maybe they are bringing in another CB.

No, they promoted WR Tori Gurley from the practice squad.

A few things I found interesting according to Pluto:

- The Pats put in as many waiver claims as we did (6), but were only awarded four players since 2 of the players they put claims in for were awarded to teams with worse records.

- OL John Moffitt was not on the active roster for the Broncos on Thursday, so it looks like he wasn't going to help us anyway.

Is Jermaine Cook still available? I know I'm probably a bigger fan of his than I should be, but I said I would have much rather kept Cook over signing Johnson.

It seems the Browns want a smallish and shifty back with good receiving skills to back up Trent. That guy will likely be Rainey. I think the Johnson guy was claimed in case we either didn't get Rainey, or he wasn't what they thought.

Something tells me that if the Browns get another RB this year for a reason other than injury, it will be a bigger, more physical runner.

Oh, and don't forget we still have Dion Lewis for next year.

I still want Cook dang' it. I'm not sure why they claimed Johnson, but you may be right. Although at 180 lbs I don't think he would be playing a traditional RB role and with his fumbling issues I don't even know why we would claim him over keeping Cook. Cook at least has 20 lbs on him and while I don't think he could be a workhorse he could spell T-Rich. But yeah, that is probably Rainey's role now so I doubt we go that route. Lets just keep our stable healthy.

Not saying these guys are world beaters, however, aren't Brandon Jacobs, Beanie Wells, and Willis Mcgahee still available? Any one of them are better than what we have as backups.
