It's all Kellen Winslow Jr's fault...

In all seriousness this is pretty messed up. My bro had a MRSA scare not too long ago, it's really scary stuff. Don't Google images for it if you are squeamish.

I am definitely not looking that up haha....

But realistically here, does anyone know how long Nicks will be out with this?

The only real update I have read on Nicks is Coach Schiano is supposed to update his condition on Monday. I'm assuming his need for medication will hopefully be over at that time and allow Nicks the opportunity to do more strenuous activity which will help determine when he will be able to return.

I feel like I got it just by looking at the pics. Gosh that's horrible. I'm sure Nicks condition was much less serious cuz it sounds like it was caught pretty quickly. From what it sounds like, Tynes has it more seriously than Nicks and I doubt Nicks misses much regular season action if any. Hopefully it was all taken care of at the facility. Heard the Glazers told Dom to "spare no expense" when it came to sanitizing the facility.

Hopefully both of them make a full recovery. Also, it's good to see the franchise taking immediate action to protect the rest of the players.

It's not necessarily the facility, but hopefully we learn from this and it never happens again.

Can't say I've experienced staff but a kid I went to high school with did suffer te same infection on his hand a few years back. The picture he showed me was nasty. Took him a few weeks, about a month til he was able to lift and everything cleared up.

I'm not really sure how exactly you get Mrsa. But one thing I did hear is not maintaining equipment. Bucs staff not cleaning their facility? I'm just going on what he told me.

Also if I'm Lawrence Tynes I'm immediately suing te doctor who told him it was an in grown toe nail. Smart man to get that second opinion bc you don't mess around with staff.

The frightening thing is it can be as simple as people not washing their hands- and that's not even the medical staff- that's anyone.

Did both not get the infection through their feet? Nicks' was a blister and Tynes' was an ingrown toenail?

An ingrown toenail is easy to diagnose and I'm sure he actually had it when he saw the doctor. He might not even have had MRSA at the time or just wasn't showing symptoms. Having any sort of wound or break of skin will just make it easier to get the MRSA infection.
