Yeah, that's a nice chunk of change.

So 80% of snaps, eh?

Wonder if the team might limit him towards the end of seasons on passing downs to perhaps save a little money...

Yeah, sure, limit the passing downs of the ILB with the most interceptions over the last three years.

But seriously, the guy plays virtually every down. When healthy, that is.

Oh Jerruh, you never stop surprising me. He's a great player, but they over paid a lil bit.

Cowboy fans as a whole love the deal, non-Dallas fans as a whole criticize the deal. Sounds about right.

Love Lee. Heart and Soul of the Defense. He and Dez are the future of the team.

HUH?

Its these kind of talking out of my rear comments that are just dumb. First off the contract is only 16 million guaranteed. If he does end up making 8.5 Mil/Yr then it will be worth it because that means he played over 80% of defensive snaps. If Sean Lee plays over 80% of snaps then he is going to have an All-Pro year. The guy is exactly what you want at LB. So stop with the ill informed remarks.

I don't get how you can say Jerry you never stop surprising me and then say he overpaid a little bit. Just poor posting.

From the time Sean Lee got injured our defense last year went from top 3 in Run D to top 15 in Run D.

Thats the sean lee factor in our defense.

He isn't just a inside linebacker, hes the core of our defense.

Damn if only the Chiefs front office ran our team.

It seems like almost every contract is seen as "overpaying" a player...I see it as a team trying to lock up a player they value....we have to remember...contracts are going to get bigger and bigger with the changes to the CBA....with the smaller rookie contracts, teams can now resign players or sign free agents at a higher rate.

I don't get the hate. This is a great deal. Six years, less than 17 mil guaranteed? He has to play 80% of snaps or on average he makes 3 mil a year. He's either gonna the the day he signed this deal or he's gonna laugh on his way to an early injury induced retirement. And Jerry won't care about the latter.

Ding!

DING!

DING!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!

Yes, exactly. The team is making an investment in the interception leader for LBers for the past three years. And yet, they are getting insurance just in case the unfortunate may happen.

Thats alot of money for a guy who has had ONE great FULL season and has trouble staying in the field.

If the guarnateed money is relatively low, then its not a big deal. If its in the upwards of $20 mil...thats a joke.

Exactly. Lee is a good MLB but I'm just surprised they paid him that much with him coming off an injury and only one full season as a starter.
