There has been some very cursory contact between the Saints and representatives for wide receiver Devery Henderson

A little frustrated that they're even toying with the idea, to be honest. He's got nothing left and would only hinder the young receiving corps.

Colston
Moore
Stills
Toon
Parker
????? Do we need another?

I'd rather give Tanner, Hakim, or Cadet a roster spot over Henderson.

I'm with you on this one. I think Henderson is pretty much done. I would rather have one of the young guys get a roster spot and develop.

Can't teach speed. It's one of the few things you're either born with it or you're not.

Maybe they're trying to get him to retire a Saint Question

He would only sign a one day contract and I doubt Henderson wants to retire just yet.

I know with Morgan going down we don't have an "obvious" deep threat but I really like what the youngsters have shown so far, why kick the tyres on an inconsistent veteran to take a roster spot? Whatsmore with Payton back I'm not worried if we don't neccesarily have a burner.

When you add the two tight ends in the mix and that Jed can also catch out of the Strong/I-Form e.t.c. then I think if anything the receving core has enough about it for Brees to go HAM [pardon the term] with.

Great post from the new guy. Totally agree.

Another thing, you don't need elite speed to be a deep threat on this team, Lance Moore caught some pretty deep balls this season, Toon looks to have the combo of size/speed (although not elite speed) to be a deep threat, and Kenny Stills could be just as good, if not better than Moore when it comes to straight line speed.

Not having a deep threat doesn't scare me as long as Payton is around.
