Seneca Wallace's started the last three games of 2011 for Cleveland, replacing Colt McCoy (concussion). Did not play in 2012. #49ers

Ricardo Lockette was released from 49ers to make room for another ex-Seahawk, Seneca Wallace

Shows you how underwhelming our back up QB situation has been in training camp/preseason.

QB Seneca Wallace told the 49ers this morning that he's decided to walk away, and they're determining how to phrase the transaction

Would rather go with a mccoy/daniels combo. Mccoy at least has somewhat more potential than wallace, and I dont think anyone can complain about what weve seen from daniels so far. Add in his versatility in that we dont necessarily have to use him exclusively as a qb and im even more on board

I think he'd be a good back up in this offense.

I don't see how McCoy has more potential than Seneca. Confused I mean, he's younger, but that's about it. Wallace even outplayed McCoy in their time together in Cleveland.

wallace was a decent player, but something aint right--whether age or something else--because he hasn't shown anything nfl-worthy in a couple years.
really not sure why we're even looking.

I can't claim I know a whole lot about this guy, but honestly, I'd rather just give Daniels the #2 job. If we're down to our 3rd string quarterback, our season is over anyway. So, it doesn't matter whether it's Colt or Scott.

I can't blame the staff for looking to improve on a position, but I think we're just splitting hairs at this point. Kaepernick must stay healthy and we can stick anyone in there to hand off the ball to gore/hunter/james/etc... if we're blowing a team out of the water.

Well, so much for Lockette being the surprise WR on the team Laughing .

Two of the three WRs Kaepernick worked out with in Atlanta are gone.

I believe Wallace signed for the veteran minimum, of $940K, but counts only $555K due to the minimum salary benefit program #49ers

@PFF_Jeff: The only QB with a lower passer rating than Colt McCoy (25.3) this preseason is Tim Tebow (17.7). #49ers

Well, I think the solution is obvious. We have to cut Kaepernick. Good thing we now have one more QB.

Anyone else thinking we should call the Raiders and see about Terrell Pryor?

He's such an unknown is the issue. He has plenty of potential so the Raiders would likely ask for more than we would be willing to give up.

its mainly just that I think wallace has reached his pinnacle and there is nothing else to really see there. With McCoy I feel there is at least a little unknown quantity there and something that can still be uncovered
