We all assumed that Marshall or Patterson would be gone eventually....

I am somewhat confused I guess I knew this was a possibility but with us already well under the cap and our issues last year with depth at the position I am not sure about this. Maybe his back was a issue again all reports were he was going back n forth with first team reps all camp. Does save some cash though but damn it if I see Nolan carroll out there again

I was shocked at first, but it does make sense, the team saves almost 3.5 million by cutting him (which can be rolled-over to next year).

Marshall has been outplayed throught camp by Patterson, who won the starting spot opposite Grimes. So marshall was battling for a roster spot with Carroll, Davis and Taylor, all set to earn significantly less than him. Add that to Davis's and Carroll's solid play in camp, and I understand why the Dolphins cut him.

I guess it depends on what report you read because Davis has been roasted more times then they can count and it carried over to the game the other night and me personally I am over Nolan carrol and how good of a practice player he is. Its not the end of the world or gonna break our season Like I said maybe they don't trust his back but I am starting to get concerned about depth and having more money next year is cool I guess

Better get used to Davis doing that. Hes very aggressive and will make big plays. Hell give up one too though. But he will have alot of ints and is a playmaker. Something we need.

As far as marshall i was shocked. But patterson has outplayed him. Best man wins

I hear you and I am not all that upset with the move just don't want to run into what we did last year depth wise. I have hopes for Taylor and maybe they use the money for another move at 4th WR or somewhere

Well Carroll is solid and so is Patterson. With Davis and Taylor on roster i'm not so surprised

From what I've seen from Patterson he is solid and impressed me more than Marshall.

Carroll gets picked on, it happened again in the last game. 2-3 passes at him in a row against the backups.

I still think that Dolphins fans use that Bills game as an excuse a little too much and trust me, I thought he looked like a highschooler playing against NFL players that game but he's been pretty decent

I would've paid Marshall and Patterson this year. Davis isn't ready for a major role IMO, and I doubt Taylor is either since he hasn't been healthy. Davis can force turnovers, sure, but he also bites on double moves, won't tackle and gets beat fairly often.

I see Miami looking at a plan. I can't see Miami going into the season with Grimes, Patterson and Davis. Marshall might have been looked at as a stop gap and with emergence of Davis they could let him go. I see us looking on the waiver wire these next two weeks though.

Davis hasn't emerged though. In game situations he hasn't shown me much of anything positive besides his interception.

We paid Marshall more than 6 million bucks to play 4 games.

Might not have shown you much but there is a lot we don't see in the games and practice. If the coaches feel he is performing the same or better than Marshall then they made the right choice. I believe Davis has emerged. Not a shut down corner but most people didn't even know who this kid was. Playing time fixes the areas that need it and Marshall might have been hindering it.
