Just saw the updated depth chart and not a thing has changed. Yeah, it's preseason and all, but shouldn't someone be pushing for the starting PR duties? I want Alford back there! I swear if "Fair Catch Franks" is our PR man come the sAINTS game I will seriously punch a hole in my wall or something. What is it gonna take for Smitty to realize he is HORRIBLE Evil or Very Mad

There's plenty of questionable things our team does. We just gotta let it play out and hope it works out.

We're only half way through preseason. You've got to have faith playa.

I have zero faith in Franks. He has consistently proved to be a liability at PR, IMO.

Hey at least Franks can catch the punt. I'm always weary of players returning punts that could possibly play a significant role on the team. It's why I don't want Alford doing it.

You don't want Alford returning punts, yet one of his major attributes and reasons why he was drafted is his ability to return the ball. Makes sense. Sometimes you gotta stop playing it so safe and worrying about "oh he MIGHT get hurt" and put the best man for the job out there and see what happens. Alford gives us the best opportunity to succeed at the PR position. Franks does NOT. And anyone who is defending Franks and saying he should return punts is either blind or did not watch the Falcons last year.

If we went by this Julio would be returning kicks and possibly punts.

This. And every team would do the same. ST has a far higher injury rate than both offense and defense. It's a legitimate concern in this situation. However I do agree that Alford should be returning.

I'm going to pretend I didn't read that because that is so far fetched and serves no purpose in this thread. Be a little realistic in your responses.

Not only are injuries a concern but development as well. How many returners play a significant role elsewhere on there team? I would not want to limit Alford's potential as a corner by placing him as a returner. Especially since getting a return specialist is so easy these days.

Lol so you say we put the best guy out there and I name arguably our best player and then you get upset? Okay guy

Also you're proving everyone's point in this thread but your's with that last response.
