er
why?

Bc he cant show anything else, like even if henne balls out he wont change anything. It just sounds weird

Gabby's last preseason game pretty much ended Henne.
This is no surpise

Yeah. Gabbert won the job with his performance, and then Chad went out and lost it right after.

i understand that, it just seems weird when there is a competition to see

"expected to miss the rest of the preseason"

and

"named the starter":

my first thought was they dont want him getting hurt, not that it is bc he is hurt

His thumb is broken. They aren't allowed to lie about that on the injury report without facing fines. What could Henne possibly show the next two games? That he can play well occasionally, while playing like garbage other times? Players that play like Henne did, this late into his career, against backups, with a shot at the starting job on the line, don't deserve to be starting.

Didn't ever hear Gabbert actually broke his thumb...

Good news regardless. Just wanted this too be confirmed because I really didn't want to run out there with a proven nfl backup...we really don't need to see what we have with Henne. He is not the future here, and Blaine might not be either, but we need to make sure of it.

Gus called is a hairline fracture in the presser announcing that Blaine was starting. He also said Blaine would be ready by the time they start preparing for KC.

Yeah, a fracture is a break, just not an entire break. And apparently his isn't even as bad as your normal hairline fracture.

All I know is that Jags would be good if Gabbert can be consistent with what he did against the Jets. If Gabbert can be consistent we might push for the afc south tittle but it all depends on Gabbert. I hope the coaches can turn him around .

The defense is a long ways from that still

Yeah, watched that right after I posted. Luckily doesn't sound like a big deal. Hopefully he's ready to go in a couple weeks so we don't have to see Henne.

I want to see our defense go against that explosive eagles offense for three quarters to see where we really stand.

I expect to have a lot of ups and downs. Just really young and a lot of new players and new scheme. Don't really expect either side of the ball to totally click until into the regular season.

Would be nice to see them go out there and play well in the 3rd preseason game which is thought of as the closest preseason game to a regular season game though.
