Jarius Wright is out with a concussion, doubt he'll be back in preseason.

Dan Wiederer ‏@StribDW 2h
Vikings WR Jarius Wright suffered a concussion Friday. Will have to pass NFL testing protocol before returning to practice.

well... allows Ponder to concentrate on Patterson and Jennings, at least.

I knocked heads with a 49ers fan today. He sees no threat in the NFC. I think realistically they can play bad and win 10 games. They just need to be healthy in the playoffs and I think Harbaugh will play them that way.

O-line issues are number one.

Punching defense in number 2.

Both teams will show nothing this game.

The Vikings are showing nothing right now offensively. Nada. Zero. No plans to do so. 49ers are similar. It's all white bread crap. Expect a game of execution of boring stuff offensively.

Id sit Peterson this week. But he will probably play I would imagine. If he does, i hope its not for more then one series (2-3 carries).

I wonder if Patterson will get his chance with the starters. Musgrave is pretty fussy about keeping WRs in their assigned roles (remember Harvin coming off the field in favor of Jenkins/Aromashodu in 2011). Patterson is still behind Simpson at split end, I don't think they've been practicing with him at flanker or in the slot. I wouldn't be surprised to see Simpson/Jennings in 2WR sets and Simpson/Jennings/Burton as 3WR, with Jennings moving in to the slot and Burton at flanker.

Perhaps they are trying to limit Patterson as much as possible, as to not show too much in the preseason.

Starters should see significant action in this one. I hope Peterson doesn't play. I have no interest in seeing him tackled by Patrick Willis in a meaningless game.

Yup, that's when I'm drafting too. Actually heading out to Montana tomorrow for a week to visit family. I'm hoping I can find a TV to watch the game on.

I wonder how many times Gerhart will try to help out his old coach this time around...

Realistically, I just want to see a more consistant performance from the offense. Ponder, the Oline, recievers and runners.

and the defense needs to make some more plays. I liked what I saw from Rhodes. We just need to keep it up.

Overall, quick prediction:

49ers: 24
Vikings: 17

Frazier just said that AP will play, likely just in the first half.

I approve. This is the dress rehearsal, it won't feel like the same team without him.

I see Peterson probably being in for one series, getting one touch of the ball, probably on a running play, and maybe go out for a pass, just to get him hit once, and then after that he'll be done.
