Sounds like what they'll probably do.

Oh well, who wanted to see an open offense anyways. Max Protect FTW!

Until McFadden gets injured, then I have no idea what our offense is gonna do...

I like the RB depth a lot better this year. Murray runs very similar to DMC and Jennings and Stewart have been solid backups lately.

The run blocking hasn't looked good thus far tho.

Jennings flopped badly last year as a starter and has a consistent injury history, Murray's a 6th round pick who's been banged up and is averaging 3.6 ypc against deep backups, and Stewart has shown next to nothing since being cut by the Eagles and Jets before he wound up on our practice squad.

How do you feel good about our depth? If DMC gets hurt, we don't even have a RBBC approach that could work.

DMC is the only player who can make our offense look in any way decent and we're gonna lose out bad if we're banking on him holding up for 16 games, especially behind this line.

We do have nice RB though in my opinion. It's just our OL is so freakin terrible there's no where to run. If our starting OL is terrible, how can you expect any RB to operate behind our backup OL??

Wonder if Steelers would trade one of their OT's for Briesel. Didnt realize they were moving to ZBS this season.

Nope. He sucks nobody is trading anything of worth for him. Plus his price tag isn't good.

Wouldnt be surprised if we pick up Jason Smith now that he was released. Sparano coached him last season.

"Pro Football Focus gave him a +6.4 rating with the 265 snaps he took for the Jets in 2012."

Probably the best we will get at this point even after cuts. Certainly I would prefer him over a guy like Starks. The fact that Sparano got him to play well is good as well. I am fairly confident he could beat out Barron.

Actually the more I read about him the better it sounds as a stopgap until Veldheer gets back. He wasnt a penalty machine either. Biggest issue is intial punch but has superb feet and lateral quickness as does very well in run game.

Jason Smith was released by NO ... first thought I had - Oakland. Can't be any worse than what you've got right now.

We tried out Jason Spitz.
Guess there were as unhappy with Gurode's performance as I was. He didnt get outmatched just didnt know any assignments it seemed.

Makes sense. Remember that one play when he was preoccupied with helping Wisnewski rather than blocking Harper?

4:09 was the play I was talking about. Looks worse after having seen it again.

5:08 was bad too

5:19 also

6:06 he couldn't keep up with a screen play

Nix looked solid in here. Better than Bergstrom at LG. Berg wasn't bad though. I think the line looked horrific because of both Barron and Gurode. Replace Gurode with a solid RG and we're in much better shape.
