I hate it when the media crown somebody before they prove it on the field.
I hate Lebron James for the same reason. You want to be better than Michael win seven championships until then shut up.

but uh lebron has been the best player in bball for a long time. If being better than jordan and winning 7 ships is the standard to where he can start talking. Those are some insane standards. Oh and clowney wasnt playing against some bum against michigan and was double team alot. U asking alot from clowney. What was peppers and williams stats in college.

Clowney had 54 tackles, 23.5 TFL, and 13.0 sacks last season as a true sophomore and he hasn't proven it on the field? Not to mention the fact that he's 6'6" 270 with long arms and will likely run in the 4.4-4.5 range at the combine.

He had 50% of his sacks in two games.
Tyler Wilson had 41 pass attempts against South Carolina and Clowney had Zero sacks. How is that possible for the best DE in the last ten years.
He also had Zero sacks against Michigan, East Carolina and LSU.

We have to wait until after the season but as of right now he's looking like the real deal.

That's what they said about Tyler Wilson....

That's why they play the games?
It not like all the excuses you guys make for Clowney.
The coach call him out for not practicing hard, that ok he doesn't want to be a college.
He had 6.5 sack over 10 game, that's Ok he runs a 4.4.
In the bowl game against Michigan he didn't show up.
He had 3 tackles 2 TFL and 0 sacks, but did you see the hit he had when they didn't block him.
These are big RED FLAGS and no one cares.

HA.... see this is what a bias position looks like. The reason 'they didn't block him' was because he was so quick off the ball, the pulling guard couldn't get to the gap in time. Result.... made a huge play for his team.

These are not red flags. You have a guy who is a man among boys who yeah, might lose some interest at times because he's ready to play against the big boys.

You don't even watch the games. You are just looking at the stats obviously.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTmCQ_dIRmw

That play doesn't count as a 'sack' because it was on a read option, but there he is making plays in the backfield.

And here are all the snaps in that game for you so perhaps you can educated yourself a little before posting in the future:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY1a-yHyHmM

Clowney was owning #71 all games (hence the trash talk in the 1st link) as 71 was constantly holding him and at one point went low on him.

And you notice Arkansas plays away from him. Doubles him, etc. Sacks don't tell the entire story. If you are looking at that stat alone, that's misguided. Clowney applies constant pressure in the backfield, requires extra blockers or in some cases they just flat out tackle him as opposed to letting him hit their QB.

Bitty views Clowney the same way that Simon views LeBron. Clowney could have 140 tackles, 40 sacks, and 50 TFL next season and Bitty would probably still be making arguments against us picking him.

Last I heard everyone was saying Clowney was better then Peppers and Williams so why compare them. If people said he's a real good DE that'll be different but they're say he's a once in a generation player so he should put up great stats.
By the way every top DE gets double-team.

If 7 championships is a insane standard then don't compare yourself to someone who has six championships.

I think both trenches are the biggest need the Raiders have had for the last ten years and yes I would hate to attempt to develop Bridgewater under these conditions.

FIFY

+1

After all, most forget that all the most effective running QBs (Keapernick & Russell) went to teams already stacked on offense.

Stats don't always tell the whole story. Clowney gets double and triple teamed every play. He does a lot for that dline

Kinda like Pryor? But no one is crowning Bridgewater?
