What to look For

-Yards on the Ground. We have 3 RBs on the roster that could have been preseason stars for us in former years. I want to see around 150 yds by the time the game is over with Turbin back in the mix.

-1st String offense coming out stronger. Yea it's preseason, but it was still very disconcerting to see the starting unit come out largely unsuccessful. The chargers freakishly long drives in the 1st quarter of last week's game definitely limited things, but in the event that something similar happens this week we will hopefully be able to see more clicking in even the smallest of stints.

-Solid showing from an Olineman. Do Carpenter and Sweezy really have future's as starters on this team? The idea is to get a convincing glimpse in the time they will be on the field. Would be nice to see one of the lesser known products stand out in hopes of finding some surprise depth. I'm looking at you, Alvin Bailey (He answered the call last week, can he do it again?...by the way, I called this Cool )

-Does Bruce Irvin belong at LBer? Straight forward. Want to see a preview of what we'll be getting for at least 12 games this year. Hopefully he's not too banged up top participate against the broncos

-A Wideout stepping up. Who's going to take that #4 Spot for us? 4-6 is pretty wide open if Chris Harper doesn't come out and impress these next 4 weeks. Could someone else emerge? Kearse and Stephen Williams have stood out so far, we'll see if that continues.

-A young Dlineman shoring up the middle. 3 Young players will have duties at interior Dline this season. One of Jaye Howard, Jessie Williams and Jordan Hill should come up big for us this season....literally. But who?

Carpenter has a foot injury and was 2 weeks from getting back so either the 3rd or 4th preseason game.

Definitely looking forward to seeing how Bruce looks at his new position, hopefully he can cause some pressure and will be less liable against the run. I also expect a better showing out of Jesse Williams, who was getting manhandled in the first preseason game, and with the amount of depth we have in the trenches, can't afford to assume his roster place is guaranteed.

The first team offense should get more time as well, so they should be able to find a better rhythm than against the Chargers. Assuming he plays, Rice should help that process a fair bit. Broncos is one of the best in the league so it will certainly be a challenge. It will also be interesting to see if any of the tight ends make a serious claim to being the number two, as they should all see a fair amount of time.

I expect my adopt-a-rookie to channel his inner Clemons again and cement his spot on the 53 with another big showing.

I want to see progress from the starting unit. They didn't do much last week, I'd like to see more production from them. String some drives together and get a rhythm going. And no injuries as always.

I wouldn't worry about the offense to much it's very vanilla in preseason.

I wanna see Stephen Williams get a couple reps against their number 1 defense. Excited to see him play again I think he could be something good for us

Things I will be watching

- Legion of Boom vs Peyton Manning- Our 1st string secondary looked a little shaky last week so I want to see how we improved and how we play against Peyton.

- Christine Michael- Played great last week. I was very impressed with his pass blocking and his running ability. Lets see if he can keep up the stellar play.

- Derrick Coleman vs Spencer Ware- These two are competing for the 2nd Fullback/Special Teams spot. They both played great last week so I want to see who can continue the good play.

-1st Team Offensive Line- Looked a little shaky last week so I will be watching to see how we play against a good Denver Pass Rush. Will also be watching Alvin Bailey when the backups get in there. Bailey did a tremendous job last week and Im looking for him to continue that this week. I feel he has a chance to be a starter for us.

True, but I still want to see something more than incomplete passes and Wilson saving the offense with his legs. If the team is going to keep the pressure up in the NFC they need to come out of the gates running, not take 4-6 weeks into the regular season to get their rhythm. I don't expect this team to come out of nowhere, they did that last year. This year they need to start high and keep the intensity up for the whole season. For that I'd like to see some progress tonight, if it's not there, I won't lose sleep. Very Happy
