Hi all, doing my prep for fantasy football and I wanted to ask about some of your key players.

1. MJD. What do we make of him? He's going about 2nd round right now, but I see experts pushing him down to the 5th or 6th. Is he going to be the MJD of old or should I steer clear of him. What kind of stats do you see him putting up?

2. The WRs. Cecil Shorts - is he a #2 fantasy WR, do you see him putting up 1000 yards and 10 TDs? Blackman I have been getting in the very late rounds, do you see him as another 1000 yard/10 TD potential guy?

3. Any sleepers on the team to keep an eye on?

Thanks guys

He's looked good in practice, but that's practice. He's a tough one to figure.

I'm expecting more around 1,100 and 8.

With a 4 game suspension, no. He could be that week to week guy once he hits midseason form, but he won't hit those markers.

Marcedes Lewis should have a better year now that he won't be babysitting the RT anymore. Mike Brown could be a guy to get for the first 4 weeks until Blackmon comes back. He looks like he's been playing really well and he should be our second outside WR for those first 4 games. Aside from that there probably isn't too many guys worth looking at. Forsett or Denard could get some good games if MJD isn't elite, same with Ace Sanders as a returner/slot guy. but they would likely have to be play and pray you're playing them their one or 2 good weeks. Most of the offensive players are going to be hindered by the Quarterbacks.

Who is the better fantasy options? Cecil or Blackmon - assuming there is no suspension.

Who is the #1 WR in your offense?

I'm considering Cecil as a #2 fantasy WR, is he worth that much? OVer guys like Steve Smith and Mike Wallace?

Also, any update on MJD's status?

Cecil>Blackmon even with no suspension. MJD is still a huge question mark

Agreed.

Although I think MJD's big question is making it through the season. Watching him run, however limited a sample size, showed that he hasn't lost a step from two years ago. He still has wheels, at least for now. His strength and ability to get leverage isn't going away anytime soon and his competitiveness will probably never go away.

I think MJD is a very strong candidate for selling high around mid-season.

I think Marcedes is going to be pretty good in the offense we all presume to have - a little more spread out with short and intermediate stuff a focus. If the protection with Joekel is there, Lewis is a nightmare matchup.

let's talk about Ace Sanders for a keeper team.

unless you get points for return yards, i dont see the value. At least for the time being he is at the very best a #3 WR with no foreseeable chance of him getting higher in the ranks unless Blackmon gets cut bc he is stupid or Cecil's injuries keep him from having a strong career. Plus we are a run-first team with no legit threat at QB

To revisit this after the 3 week mark:

How has MJD looked? I'm strongly considering him in the 2nd round over guys like Brees, Graham, and B.Marshall. Is he too risky to be a 2nd rounder? I heard Gus Bradley say he wasn't too happy about his role in the offense, is he not going to be the bell cow of the offense?

Cecil shorts - fantasy #2 WR or high end #3 WR? Would you take him over guys like Erik Decker, Antonio Brown, Steve Smith, Stevie Johnson?

Is Justin Blackmon a legit 1000 yard threat even with the 4 game suspension?

id probably take those 3 guys over MJD

CS3 is a high end 3 for me imo

No, i just dont see him average 80+ ypg over 12 games

I got Shorts in the 7th over James Jones, Mike Wallace and Steve Smith, good pick?

He's my #2 WR though

Also got Blackmon late

Could have done worse. I might have taken Smith given our QB situation

So whos gonna throw 20+ TDs for us? I'd love to see it happen, but tack on a few for MJD, the other backs and then a few no-name scores here and there we'd be at like 27/28
