FOOTBALL IS BACK LADIES.

Things I'm watching for:

- Glennon: We know Freeman will only get one or two series' (which many will undoubtedly over-analyze), so Glennon should get at least a quarter or more.

- The running backs, specifically Leonard and Hillis. I think it would be so cool if Hillis got back to his 2010 beastmode, and tonight is his first chance.

- Wideouts behind Jackson and Williams.

- The d-line depth, how they get after the passer.

DISCUSS.

First off, major props on your choice of pictures here. Hahaha

The 3 positions Im really interested in watching this preseason are RB, DL, and CB. Im also interested to see how Glennon plays just cuz I wanna see what he's got and how good of a backup he could be this season. As long as Freeman doesnt pull a butt fumble or give an atrocious performance I really dont care what he does.

I could honestly see us keeping Lorig at FB and keeping 4 RBs with us cutting Michael Smith. I really think this RB/FB competition will be interesting cuz I dont see us cutting Leonard, James, or Hillis. But its not like we could use all of them in each game unless Hillis or Leonard did some FB and Lorig was cut. I do think Smith gets cut or put on the practice squad and James takes over KR duties.

We need a pass rush and I want to see what some of these young guys, outside of McCoy and Clayborn, can do. Bowers has never really had a preseason before and Means, Gholston and Spence are rookies that could have an impact as well as 4th year man, Morgan.

Obviously Revis is our #1 but I want to see how Banks performs cuz he will most likely be our #2 when week 1 rolls around. I like Leonard in the slot and want to see how he looks in year 2 but am most excited about seeing how Melvin plays. I really hope he earns the dime position. Honestly, if Revis went down we might be in trouble at CB again this season so it will be good to know what all we have back there outside of our top pick Banks and our 2nd year guy in Leonard.

IDC if its Pre-season or not if I see Freeman struggle, it will show me he has not improved.

Not trying to sound negative but its hard to put any faith in this dude

To piggyback off of what Shorty said I am interested in watching everything but Glennon and the secondary are the two spots I will be playing special attention to.

If he plays well in the series or two, then that means he has improved and you'll have faith in him going forward?

No then I will stay neutral until the season starts
But if he throws a pick in the series or two, then it will show me he is the same 2012 season Freeman.

And this applies to all 4 pre-season games, not just the one tonight.

Wait wait wait...

If he does awesome: Inconclusive, wait and see for the regular season
If he looks anything less than awesome: He sucks

Not exactly fair..

If Freeman doesn't throw for three touchdown passes in two series, it'll be time to cut our losses and re-sign Brian Griese.

Have to keep in mind as well that we have Demps coming in once track is done. Demps brings us the speed we lack and would be a great option as KR/PR so there should be at least 2 cuts. Presumably the loser between Hillis/Leonard and Demps/Smith.

Since its the first preseason game it's going to be hard to get a read especially on josh. I'll withhold judgement unless he leads us to a 3 and out quickly or something is extremely awful and alarming.

I expect him to look crisp and comfortable against vanilla defenses. Wh

Wit josh I got alarmed last year after that 3rd preseason game he just looked uncomfortable. And that continued into the season.

I like what I'm hearing over the past week. JBF.com who's usually very honest in reports , said e looked horrible the first few practices. But ever since he got booed at the first night practice it's been a turnaround bc mike glennon was looking more accurate with his throws. If the presence of glennon and being booed in his own stadium at TC practice is wht makes freeman finally click then mark dominik and Greg schiano deserve an a+ grade picking glennon.
