We've gotten through a week of training camp, which means it's that time again: let's try our hand at predicting the Packers' final roster!

Feel free to change your prediction throughout the rest of the preseason.

Current Team Roster for reference: http://www.packers.com/team/players.html

Updated: 8/18

QB: Rodgers, Young (2(2))
--All of the backups looked better against the Rams. I still think Young would give us the best opprotunity to win a game if Rodgers gets injured in the regular season.
RB: Lacy, Harris, Green, Franklin (4(6))
--Despite all the buzz Starks had during the first week of camp, he hasn't done much in game situations. Green has looked a little better and while Franklin hasn't done much he's obviously not going to get cut which leaves Starks as the odd man out.
FB: Kuhn (1(7))
--With the improvements Finley and the other TEs have made in run blocking, and Lacy looking to have talent in pass blocking, Kuhn could be on the outside looking in. I'm not ready to call him a cut just yet.
WR: Cobb, Nelson, Jones, Boykin, Ross, Walker (6(13))
--Hyde only had one return, but he looked decent. If he shows talent there Ross could become expendable. White looked good against the Rams, but I haven't seen enough to put him in over Walker.
TE: Finley, Quarless, Mulligan, Bostick(4(17))
--Quarless needs to get back on the field. Williams hasn't shown much this preseason and hasn't show much in his three years with the Packers, so he loses the last TE spot to Bostick.
OL: Bakhtiari, Sitton, EDS, Lang, Barclay, Newhouse, Datko, Van Roten (8(25))

DL: Raji, Pickett, Wilson, Jones, Jolly, Daniels, Neal (7(32))
--Gonna be some tough cuts on the D-line this year.
ILB: Hawk, Jones, Francois, Manning, Barrington (5(37))
--Francois has been the most impressive backup ILB. Lattimore has been pretty quiet, so he loses out.
OLB: Matthews, Perry, Mulamba, Palmer (4(41))
--Mulamba makes it ahead of Moses who hasn't looked very impressive.
CB: Williams, Shields, Heyward, Hyde, Bush, House (6(47))
--More than just earning himself a roster spot, Hyde has been playing well enough to earn himself some playing time during the regular season.
S: Burnett, McMillian, Jennings (3(50))
--Banjo could earn the fourth spot, but I didn't see much of him against the Rams.

K: TCrosby
P: Masthay
LS: Goode
(3(53))

PUP: Worthy, Sherrod
IR: Johnson, Bulaga

Practice Squad: Coleman (QB), Pease (RB), White (WR), Dorsey (WR), Boyd (DL), Taylor (OL), Banjo (S)

Current Team Roster for reference: http://www.packers.com/team/players.html

QB: Rodgers, Harrell (2(2))
--Coleman has more potential but Harrell has more experience. If we have to rely on either to win us a game we're in bad shape.
RB: Starks, Lacy, Harris, Franklin (4(6))
--The hardest group to pick, made even harder by the fact that Harris hasn't gotten on the field yet. Green is too talented to cut, so hopefully he can be traded. If Starks suffers another injury he could easily be gone.
FB: Kuhn (1(7))
WR: Cobb, Nelson, Jones, Boykin, Ross (5(12))
--The fifth spot is up in the air, but I think Ross gets it based on his returning abilities (assuming he shows he can hold onto the ball.)
TE: Finley, Quarless, Mulligan, Williams (4(16))
--I went back and forth on Williams. His contributions as a lead blocker and on special teams are what convinced me. Still wouldn't be surprised if he's cut.
OL: Bulaga, Sitton, EDS, Lang, Newhouse, Bakhtiari, Barclay, Datko, Van Roten (9(25))
--Van Roten makes the team because he's basically the only interior backup we've got.

DL: Raji, Pickett, Wilson, Jones, Jolly, Daniels, Neal (7(32))
--If Neal doesn't get on the field soon he could end up being cut. Very deep position. Boyd could make it just because of his status as a draft pick.
ILB: Hawk, Jones, Lattimore, Manning, Barrington (5(37))
OLB: Matthews, Perry, Moses, Palmer (4(41))
--Pretty thin here.
CB: Williams, Shields, Heyward, House, Bush, Hyde (6(47))
--Perhaps the deepest position on the team. Nixon and Smith could be candidates for the practice squad.
S: Burnett, McMillian, Jennings (3(50))
--I haven't heard anything about our safeties outside the top three. Hopefully, Richardson can get cleared to play.

K: Tavecchio
P: Masthay
LS: Goode
(3(53))

Practice Squad: Coleman (QB), Pease (RB), Johnson (WR), Dorsey (WR), Boyd (DL), Nixon (CB), Smith (CB)

I don't know if Tavecchio is the answer so I suspect our 2013/2014 place kicker is not presently in camp.

Agreed for the most part. Changed what I didnt. Just had fun with it.

QB: Rodgers, BJ Coleman (2(2))
--Harrell has more experience but Coleman is better. Since neither is tearing it up might as well keep the guy who has more potential since we're SOL if either gets put in lol
RB: Lacy, Harris, Franklin, Green (4(6))
-- I think Starks could be traded for scraps just to move him since we were shopping him at the draft anyway.
FB: None (0(6))
-- I think with Lacys goal line and short yardage ability coupled with Kuhns cost the brass decide to keep a TE over a FB. My 1st shocker
WR: Cobb, Nelson, Jones, Boykin, Walker (5(11))
--The fifth spot is up in the air and I think Walker gets it. Why? Because Rodgers was singing his praises and this is my big SHOCKER
TE: Finley, Quarless, Mulligan, Williams Bostick (5(16))
--Williams contributions as a lead blocker and on special teams keep him around. Bostick's passing potential and growth in blocking earns him the extra spots here. Williams will be the FB when/if needed.
OL: Bulaga, Sitton, EDS, Lang, Newhouse, Bakhtiari, Barclay, Datko, Van Roten (9(25))
--Van Roten makes the team because he's basically the only interior backup we've got.

DL: Raji, Pickett, Wilson, Jones, Jolly, Daniels, Neal (7(32))
--Neal could be considered an Elephant type giving depth to DL and OLB.Jolly earns a spot with more play like he did at the scrimmage. Boyd could make it just because of his status as a draft pick.
ILB: Hawk, Jones, Lattimore, Manning, Barrington (5(37))
-- If Manning continues to play hard Jones could be back to our swing I/OLB
OLB: Matthews, Perry, Moses, Palmer (4(41))
CB: Williams, Shields, Heyward, House, Bush, Hyde (6(47))
--Perhaps the deepest position on the team. Nixon and Smith could be candidates for the practice squad.
S: Burnett, McMillian, Jennings (3(50))
-- Bush could be used as a S if need be.
K: Tavecchio
P: Masthay
LS: Goode
(3(53))

Practice Squad: Pease (RB), Johnson (WR), Dorsey (WR), Boyd (DL), Nixon (CB), Smith (CB) Mulumba (OLB)

Maybe we can use Starks as trade bait for a decent kicker?

QB Rodgers, Harrell (2)
RB Lacy, Green, Franklin (3)
- I don't trust Starks to stay healthy and if Harris doesn't get on the field soon and show significant improvement in his all around game, he's not going to have a spot either
FB Kuhn (1)
WR Nelson, Cobb, Jones, Ross, Boykin, Johnson (6)
- The bottom end of the WR group is pretty fluid, but I'd bet on carrying 6
TE Finley, Quarless, Williams (3)
- I think they'd LIKE to have a 4th TE, I just need to see someone else step up and take that spot
OL Bulaga, Sitton, EDS, Lang, Newhouse, Datko, Sherrod, Bakhitari, Barclay (9)

DL Raji, Jones, Pickett, Daniels, Worthy, Boyd, Jolly (7)
OLB Matthews, Perry, Neal, Palmer (4)
- Neal down to 275 is no longer a DL
ILB Hawk, Jones, Manning, Lattimore (4)
CB Williams, Shields, Hayward, House, Hyde, Bush (6)
S Burnett, McMillian, Jennings, Richardson (4)

K ?
P Masthay
LS Goode

I know I'm at 52 and I'm expecting 53 to be a TE, but someone at another position could surprise and take that spot

Don't know why people are all a sudden putting Walker on their 53 just because Arod said something good about him lol. He will admire a lot of players, it's up to the coaches and this is just based on the first week of camp. Boykin and Ross are definitely gonna be 4 and 5 if they stay healthy and keep it up.

Sure he's had a good first week of camp. But there is tons of competition at his position it's not even funny. Myles White, Omarius Hines, Alex Gillett, and if Charles Johnson and Kevin Dorsey comes back they have them too. Plus add the fact that Boykin and Ross have been looking great in their respective roles. I think he will have a chance for the practice squad, maybe as a 6th receiver, but I don't think he has eclipsed himself from the rest of the pack yet.

I would look out for Omarius Hines, the guy has great size and speed. I like his credentials better than Walker imo. For coming in a little later with the team he has faired pretty well. Once he gets the playbook down and gets more reps I bet he will have as good or a better chance of making the team than some of the other Recievers.

I like White and Gillett too. Gillett looks like a Nelson mold. He's making some plays out there.

QB: Rodgers, Coleman(2(2))
--Coleman is going to clean it up and show he can play smart leaving Harrell out of the NFL where he belongs.
RB: Lacy, Green, Franklin (3(5))
--Lacy already looks to be the best back we've had since Ahman Green. Alex Green is finally healthy and showing why he was a third round pick. Franklin needs to develop a bit more.
FB: Kuhn (1(6))
WR: Cobb, Nelson, Jones, Boykin, Ross, Johnson(6(12))
--I see the first four as locks. Ross I'm not sold on completely. While he's a quality KR, I haven't seen much development as a WR. I'm keeping Johnson to develop him. I really like Tyrone Walker to challenge as a WR and Omarius Hines to challenge as a KR/WR.
TE: Finley, Williams, Mulligan, Bostick(4(16))
--I now understand why Crabtree is gone. DJ Williams has gotten bigger, stronger, and looks like a top shelf 2nd TE. Mulligan makes me what to feature a three TE package. Bostick has gotten bigger and stronger along with Finley and Williams. I love this group this year. I really liked Quarless but I've been saying for a while that injury has ended his career.
OL: Bulaga, Sitton, EDS, Lang, Newhouse, Bakhtiari, Barclay, Datko, Van Roten (9(25))
--Tretter and Sherrod to PUP. Both come back eventually to replace Datko and Van Roten. Probably invest another draft pick here late next year.

DL: Raji, Pickett, Jones, Daniels, Neal, Boyd (6(31))
--Worthy to PUP. Sadly, the decision to keep Boyd over Jolly, Wilson, etc. was a numbers game. Jolly is 300k more expensive than Boyd and cutting Boyd would be a 120k cap penalty on top of it. Wilson is in a contract year and with little chance we bring him back if he gets an offer elsewhere and a 630k salary he too falls 300k over Boyd's tiny cap number and I don't see our 6th DL ever making the field.
ILB: Hawk, Jones, Barrington, Manning (4(35))
-Manning was a bad fit in our defense from day 1. He's making it this year as a special teamer.
OLB: Matthews, Perry, Moses, Palmer, Mulumba (5(40))
--If you can't get to the QB, get out of this group. Palmer making it as a cheaper way to keep he and Mulumba.
CB: Williams, Shields, Heyward, House, Bush, Hyde (6(46))
--I won't be surprised when Tramon ends up on the IR with that knee. Starting to think he is cowardly looking to get put there to stay with the team at his expensive rate. Otherwise I could see him being a surprise cut with the depth we have behind him.
S: Burnett, McMillian, Jennings, PTBNL(4(50))
--I think we're inching towards McMillian playing full time next year, but the bigger issue is that we don't have a 4th safety. My guess is we swap one of our DL for one. Either way, I don't see the 4th safety on the roster.

K: PTBNL
--Neither Tavecchio or Crosby can do this job. Gonna be one of those Billy Cundiff types who have been all over the league.
P: Masthay
LS: Goode
(3(53))

Practice Squad: Pease (RB), Hines (WR), Nixon (CB), Lewis (OL), Pena (DL), PTBNL.

QB 2 (2)

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Graham Harrell

I'm more confident in Harrell than I am right now with Coleman. He can run the offense better. Coleman has no pocket presence. Good arm, decent mobility. Preseason will tell the story, but he's not ready imo.

RB 4 (6)

1. Eddie Lacy
2. James Starks
3. Johnathan Franklin
4. Alex Green

Don't know about Harris yet because of that injury(s), so i'm leaving him off for now. I like the rest of the running backs, I actually wouldn't mind if they kept 5 running backs. Starks and Green aren't bad players, especially if they're playing for their lives this year, and they play backup roles. Pease looks like a good size back to develop. I bet he gets picked up quickly if we don't keep him on the 53.

FB 1 (7)

1. John Kuhn

Kuhn isn't going anywhere. Valuable player enough to stick around in this offense. He's a pretty nice run blocker, and is a pass blocking specialist. Keep him for one more year and see how Amosa pans out.

WR 5 (12)

1. Jordy Nelson
2. James Jones
3. Randall Cobb
4. Jarrett Boykin
5. Jeremy Ross

The 6th WR for me depends all on what our drafted rookies do. I wanna say Charles Johnson, but there's also other guys I like. Walker, Hines and White are nice but I really want to see more from them. So i'm giving it 5 WRs for now. I fully expect 6 though, with all the talent.

TE 4 (16)

1. Jermichael Finley
2. D.J. Williams
3. Andrew Quarless
4. Matthew Mulligan

TE is pretty weird after Jermichael. I don't know what we have in Stoneburner, we'll see in the preseason. Bostick is interesting though, he's a big target, I really wanna see what he can do. Depends how healthy Quarless is, and if Williams can progress, we'll see if Bostick pushes for one of the jobs. I think Mulligan is a lock because we're trying to improve our run game.

OL 8 (24)

1. Josh Sitton
2. Brian Bulaga
3. T.J. Lang
4. Evan Dietrich-Smith
5. David Bakhtiari
6. Marshall Newhouse
7. Don Barclay
8. Greg Van Roten

After Don Barclay I don't know what we have. I think it's gonna be a threeway battle between Van Roten, Datko, and Taylor. If Sherrod comes back he's a sure in for a spot. Then it's for the Coaches to decide if we keep another.

DL 7 (31)

1. B.J. Raji
2. Ryan Pickett
3. Datone Jones
4. Mike Neal
5. Mike Daniels
6. C.J. Wilson
7. Johnny Jolly

I gave the DL 7 because there is just so much depth and everyone is relatively healthy except for Neal, in which I think he'll be fine. I think Jolly will get in because of how he has handled coming back from not playing for 3 years/being in jail. I'm pleasantly surprised Jolly. We could cut Wilson or Jolly, but I think having more depth around the trenches is always a good thing.

OLB 5 (36)

1. Clay Matthews
2. Nick Perry
3. Dezman Moses
4. Nate Palmer
5. Andy Mulumba

I think Mulumba will be a good player, he's probably our best UDFA imo. His speed, power, and run stopping skills will be an asset to things team. Nate Palmer looks pretty good, can't wait to see what he can do in the preseason. Not much else to say about the OLBs.

MLB 5 (41)

1. Brad Jones
2. A.J. Hawk
3. Robert Francois
4. Terrell Manning
5. Sam Barrington

MLB doesn't look on paper, but it has a lot more speed this year than in years past. I think it will come down to Lattimore vs Barrington for a spot on the team.

CB 6 (47)

1. Tramon Williams
2. Sam Shields
3. Casey Hayward
4. Davon House
5. Micah Hyde
6. James Nixon

I believe Bush's run is over. I don't care if he's a quote on quote good "special teamer", his coverage skill is no where. I think Micah Hyde, James Nixon, and Brandon Smith will be far better players than Bush ever is. Sure he could play Saftey, but still mediocre.. I just don't know where Bush fits on this team, unless he shows better cover skills. Lotta depth in the secondary this season. I like this Brandon Smith fella, I wouldn't mind seeing him make the team, we need more big guys like Davon House, they practically look like the same player out there lol.

S 3 (50)

1. Morgan Burnett
2. Jerron McMillian
3. M.D. Jennings

The 3 is subject to change if guys like Banjo, Fulton, or Powell show up. I like McMillian as an aggressive Saftey, I don't mind him talking trash like other people are saying stuff like, "Talk is cheap", hey. it's better than being affriad and unconfident. Also this is on the field.. Not like he's being a [inappropriate/removed] to the media. Just trying to give some energy or life to the defense which I like. He is pretty fast and a good tackler. Can't wait to see what he can do.

ST 3 (53)

1. Tim Masthay
2. Brett Goode
3. Mason Crosby

I like what I saw from Tavecchio last night. But i'm still pulling for Crosby until he really screws up his job.

unfortunately i think crosby sticks around, because our coaches are too mule-headed to think they drafted a bad player.

If he hasn't gotten there for you yet, I am not sure if he ever will.

I think Crosby is way past the point of no return. GT might not be able to hit long field goals, but at this point, neither can Crosby.
